I did not see the SP1000M listed on the upcoming firmware update schedule. I will inquire.
I believe because of the highly customized version of Android AK uses, inline remotes are not supported. I will also find out if that is something that can be supported in the future. I do not believe we have had many requests for that feature as most cables to do not have the inline remote in them.
Hey Jayson, my original post below but some more thoughts. Headphone manufacturers are abandoning cables for bluetooth at a rapid rate. With or without in line controls. The problem is the SQ performance of bluetooth headphones is crap compared to when you run the same headphone via a cable from an A&K or any other quality source.
I have some AU$800 sennheiser IE 80S BT. I also bought a couple of aftermarket cables one copper one and one silver from ebay. Only about $30 each. The cables absolutely smash the BT connection.
The sennheiser PMX686G running headphones i use are exceptional for running, gym and fit with cycling and snow skiing hemets. Inline controls are so convenient.
But the PMX686 last for a couple of years with heavy use. Waterproof and Kevlar reinforced cable. They are discontinued now. They are so practicle and great sounding I bought up about 5 pairs
Fishing around for my A&K while running or cycling is a complete pain. Inline controls are so practicle.
so anyway if it is a simple fix to implement inline controls that would be great. If not so be it
Regards
Sam
PS the SP1000M is astonishing. I dont know how you pack so much performance into a device of that size.

Will there be a firmware update for the SP1000M too? I have a request, being able to use inline volume controls would be great. I have Sennheiser running headphones with start/stop, forward/back and volume all inline. This works on my Android phones but not my A&K players, the SP1000M and AK70. Sennheiser make the same headphone which runs using cable control of apple.
Also an easier format for searching artists, albums and songs alphabetically would be great too. Even using lossless FLACK I have so many albums/artists, let alone songs, working through them can take time.
Oh and both my players are awesome. They both run Audeze Planars and everyone said they wouldn't. Well I know the AK70 drives LCDxc and LCD3. I haven't tried the AK70s on LCD4s. My AK SP1000M plays all the above. With the LCD4s it needs the balanced cable and it just runs out of headroom, but for 99% of my listening it is an astonishing combination.
Re LCD4 I run them in my main system from a Burson conductor 3x fed by a Cambridge Audio 840C, and my desktop home office system Chortd Qutest into Sparko Aries, and my 30 yo classic marantz CD80 /PM80 combo. The LCD4s sound crap on a laptop and mobile phone. What amazes me is the ease with which your portables run Audeze in general and the 200 ohm LCD4s in particular. Oh and how good the vintage equipment is.
And my desktop gear is pretty high quality. For a portable to keep up with it is a testament to how good A&K are.
