It would be a great feature to be able to manually connect to Gracenote on existing tracks or albums, is this something you could foresee as a possible future update or is Gracenote just a ripping programme only which reads from a physical CD?

I'll pass this onto our dev team. For now, it only works while ripping a CD.

Hey Jason, one question.
Does your 3 split case fit an SP1000 with amp module? All informations I could gather around do specify external dimensions. From the images it looks like a "naked" SP1000 fits just fine and there would still be some room to fit an increased height, but it's hard to tell how much room. It would be a letdown to order such an expensive thing and then find out the while doesn't fit.
I fear the 2 split case wouldn't be enough to fit both my SP1000+AMP and my LCDi4.

I have that case and use a 1 inch (2.54 cm) piece of foam below my SP1000 in its leather case.

I have a feature request.
You know how when I adjust the volume, the screen becomes a drag up or down to adjust volume too? I wish I can disable the screen volume adjustment. This almost damaged my ears twice in 6 months.
I adjusted the volume, and continue scrolling in album view. Bam! Instant 138 volume with CIEMs.

Sorry for the delay in responding back. No, you cannot view the full file system on AK players. We lock it down for various reasons including preventing someone from corrupting the system files by accidentally deleting something.

There should be zero sound quality difference when using the amp since it is just providing amplification. The SP1000 is still processing the sound. There may be a perceived SQ difference with the added power to drive more power hungry headphones, but the amp module is doing no sound processing.

Amps cannot change sq? Really?

Tidal can only offer offline downloads when you load the APK version (which is a bit awkward as it means having two installations of Tidal on the DAP).

I've not checked with Qobuz but there is an APK version and I would hope that it would also give you offline downloads. It's a big miss if it doesn't.

Could be a matter if we are talking about sq (sound quality) vs ss (sound signature) Typically, amp amplifies the signal and depending on the design, can also color the sound. High output power, different output impedance, different coloring of the sound - all can affect the pair up synergy with your headphones and how their transducers will react to those changes. In theory, if A&K designed this amp to be as transparent as possible, and you are using it with some multi-BA efficient IEMs - you will not hear any difference, assuming proper volume matching when comparing with and without an amp. But then, you can have some high impedance demanding set of cans which gonna come alive with more power, benefitting greatly from spk amp addition. For sure, SPK amp doesn't host korg NuTube, so we can rule out that side of coloring Let's hope to hear more impressions from people comparing with and w/o this amp using different types of earphones and headphones.

Yes, offline mode is supported for the Qobuz app installed via OpenAPK. You can choose in the Qobuz app settings to save to internal memory or microSD card.

I'm almost certain it bypasses the embedded app, so it does not double amp, but let me confirm with the hardware team when they are back in the office tomorrow.
