I do not expect the SP 2000 to be a huge upgrade sound wise. It is my educated guess that an amp for the sp1000 does a better job for many headphones due to the second battery in it.

depends on how well it implement akm4499eq, lucky i dont blast volume... wont benefit on amp and sp1000 itself huge enough.

I don’t blast volume as well but my utopia could benefit from an additional amp, I am sure. Don’t you think so? It is my guess that An amp is not about blasting volume but rather about sound signature. What are your thoughts on that?

Was it announced yet that akm4499eq is a new DAC in SP2000? And second battery in SP1000? Where are you guys getting all this info?

sorry, i was just speculating, i didnt say its related to the sp2000.
anyway we could have more info later this week.
I have a feeling there will be a lot of sp1000 for sale on the forum soon. I am glad that I kept all of the packaging for mine. I am hoping that this will have more power to drive fullsize cans and a true line out for 2 channel use. I was looking for a dac for my 2 channel but that will now need to wait. Take my money A&K take it now.

So no amp for SP1000 after all
We can still hope it is a shame that the dock connector on the bottom has never seen any use.

I'm hoping for SP2k to be more portable, closer to SPKM size.

its beneficial for poor me to get some soon-to-be-ex-TOTL dap and wait for sp2k (loop goes on)
If anyone is after an SP1000M , I have an extra lapis blue I need to shift so I can buy a new cable. I’m letting it go for a great price, PM
