LOL...on a more serious note, sound is very subjective and everyone hears differently. Whether or not paint or materials change the sound is up to your ears, IMHO.Paint changes the sound? Usually I'll just bite my tongue, but F me, some of the things I read here are too much.

It was a limited production run I believe of 2000 units.
I’m still able to add it to my cart on the US A&K store.
The time and labor involved in production of the gold is much more intensive than the aluminum SP1000M or Copper/Stainless SP1000 as brass is a soft metal and difficult to work with and the gold plating process is also a long process. We may do another run at some point if there is significant interest, but no plans at the moment. The 1000M Gold is out of production as per the A&K website. So it wasn’t a limited run of 2000 units like some people were saying? Whoops.
Can you PM me some more details about the type of router/Wi-Fi access point you are using please and if you happen to know what WiFi channel you are running on. Thank you!@JasonNYC
Hmm, what’s interesting is I bought a chrome cast ultra today, and tried setting it up. It was also giving me a wrong password error when I tried setting it up via my iPhone google home app.
I then tried setting it up from my android tablet and I never got the wrong password error, but I got an error telling me I couldn’t connect to WiFi, and I may need to disable “AP isolation” on my router.
Edit: Hmm...it seems that my device randomly resets when it does manage to successfully connect to my Wifi network.
Edit 2: Just a quick followup. It appears that it is indeed the case. I was looking at my device and finally saw "AK connect enabled" and the connection to the Wifi network, and then my device immediately crashed and reset.

If I had the cash I would snatch it up, leave it wrapped and just forget about it for a few years...It was a limited production run I believe of 2000 units.

I don’t know if this has been discussed, but I figured I would share my experimentation for those who may have questions. I might be wrong, but it’s subjective experimentation....my test playlist was 2L’s Master Playlist...
So over the last week or two I have been playing around in trying to discover the MQA capabilities of my SP1000M.... I use Tidal religiously, as I do a lot of traveling for work. One of the major reasons I took the jump for the SP1000M is the fact that it is a Full Decoder... my observation...
1. It seems to be somewhat tricky getting this full decoder aspect to do it’s job directly from the Android Tidal app side loaded... the first unfold is done, but the full unfold doesn’t seem to happen... I assume this has to do with the Android interface being the weak link, and not allowing the DAC to do its work. Tidal doesn’t let you see what the bit rate is for the MQA file... The only way I was able to check this is by connecting to another DAC... in my case it was the Hugo 2. It never went beyond green in color (96kHz)
2. Full unfold DOES occur if you run Tidal through AK Connect 2.0 on your phone... every track played showed the full unfold (352.8kHz) on the device... Hugo 2 turned its appropriate color too (pink)... the only way I can think this to be the reason is that AK connect doesn’t rely on the Android interface, and therefore gives direct access to the DAC, allowing it to do its job...
3. Audirvana recently introduced DLNA and UpnP capabilities, which allowed me to test out that aspect. Similar to the Tidal App, it does the first unfold, but doesn’t seem to send a viable MQA signal that would allow the full unfold to happen on the SP1000M.
4. Connecting the Sp1000M as a USB DAC doesn’t do the full unfold either...
If someone else has gotten different results please let me know... that is all...

MQA is limited to 24/96. Why any other procedure showing higher rates might be that audirvana is using over sampling.

No1. How about embeded tidal ?
No4. How do you know it doesnt(full unfold) because when spkm work as a dac, there's no sample rate display on its scr.
Thanks

Do you mean "tidal mqa" specs?MQA is limited to 24/96. Why any other procedure showing higher rates might be that audirvana is using over sampling.
I listen somewhere it is 24/96 for balance quality/bandwidth for streaming

My mistake. Tidal is limited to 96. Other mqa files deliver full bandwidth.
