@JasonNYC hey, you guys may want to know that the sp1k power button isnt a click button below 32 degrees, got in my car after work and it wouldnt work right, once it warmed up it got better

I passed this onto our team for further review. I know the manuals list ideal operating temps between 14 - 110 degrees F.

@JasonNYC When using the SP1000 in usb DAC mode ( let’s say from Roon ) does it decode MQA?

Is there a primer on it’s MQA modes and abilities somewhere? It does a beautiful job when streamed MQA from AK Connect or Mconnect with full indication.

Confirmed the SP1000 does NOT support MQA decoding while using as a USB DAC. I was told it is something our team will be looking into implementing at a later date.

@JasonNYC When playing DSD for the 1st time or switching from PCM to DSD on your latest devices including SPKM, the first 1 or 2 seconds of the song is cut out... I will consider that as a software bug cause on AK320 I didn't have that problem. When you have a list of DSD to play, that problem doesn't happen from the 2nd song ongoing. I am experiencing this bug using the SD card.

Is there any plans to release an amp attachment for the 1000SS, preferably a 4.4mm Sony connector? After trying many other daps, considering all aspect, for me the features of SP1000 is just too good to ignore.

Has anyone used the SP1000 with the same cable on both unbalanced 3.5mm and balanced 2.5mm?

I'm debating switching back to 3.5mm unbalanced on a new cable I may buy just for the sake of convenience for when I have to use other devices such as my iPad.

I'd love to hear thoughts on the 3.5mm output vs the 2.5mm

You can just pick up an adapter to go from 3.5mm male to 2.5mm female. Moon audio sells them or you can get one from FiiO or KK cables on amazon. I find the KK cable a bit better than the FiiO option.

I am still burning them in but here is some initial impressions.

The bass is great. There is a good level of impact and I find it to be punchy too. The mids are nice and even. The highs started off a bit bright but seem to be calming down with burn in. The imaging is very good and sound stage is pretty wide and has good depth.

I am coming from the jh roxanne and the biggest improvement is in the treble. It is much more open and airy. Listening to Michael Hedges I can clearly hear the pick and his finger strokes on the guitar strings.

I find the signature much closer to my lcd x than the roxanne was. I was looking into the Tia fourte, empire legend x, or the u18t. I am really glad that I went with the solaris. It is more balanced than the fourte to me and it is $2,000 less. Campfire seems to be a voice of reason in the current market in regards to pricing. I love the roxanne but I don't think they should be priced as high as they are.

I will post more once they are full burnt in and I have more time with them.

Really useful to me because I am considering the 18t but I’m drawn to the Solaris.... so many choices!

TBH this review started me wonder. The original idea was to buy the SPKM cause I thought they might be very-very close to each other SQ-wise. And the coclusion of the review sais it is not the case
