İs any one using sp1000 as a part of stereo system, as a streamer and/or dac+streamer?

Any comparison with a serious streamers such as Naim ndx nds?

Sounds like I should go with the cu then based on the vega and my music preferences or am I wrong in thinking that? Dropping this kind of cash I wanna make sure I get the best. Any comment on the t1p?

I have never listened to the T1P. I love the LCD-X with the sp1000 and you can get them for around the same price with the music creator package right now too.

Anyone else noticed that sound quality is worse on 1.08 software? There's smaller soundstage and less sparkle up top.

Funny enough I also feel that I'm noticing less sparkle. But I also just replaced my KSE-1500 under warranty, and was wondering whether it was due to lack of burn-in on the KSE and KSE amp (or, for that matter, just my imagination).

That's exactly what I mentioned in my previous post here. I also hear a little smoother treble, a few of my iems where I'm well familiar with a more pronounced 12k peak now have it attenuated a little bit (which I actually LIKE!!!!!). And, while I mentioned that going from 1.06 to 1.07 shrunk soundstage width a bit in SS model, going back to 1.08 expanded it, though not to the same level as 1.06. But hey, we all hear things different, use different headphones, and have different hearing level. Just enjoy the music

Anyone have the Cordovan lather case, is it worth the money? Considering getting it, the leather case that comes with the player is nice but it's not quite on par with the player it's self. I remember someone posted a nice Japanese case that came out in limited batches earlier in the thread but I can't seem to find it.

But it feels better than normal cases from iriver. It depends on one's values I think. I like both Cordovan and Patina.

I can't seem to leave **** alone once it's set in place and managed to mess up both of the screen protectors that came with the SP. Luckily I do have the healing shield on the way and will need to be extra cautious until it arrives.

Just for clarification, Patina case is from Dignis (S.Korea), not Japan as someone mentioned above.

Also, one of the big advantages of Dignis Patina case is that it wraps around the side of an upper right corner. The original stock leather case and Cordovan case has it open, unprotected. Using SP1000 with a stock case, I had that corner of the case lifted a few times when reaching for the DAP in the bag or my pocket.

I bought a glass shield and love it. Just like the one I use with my phone.

When pulling it from my Dignis belt carry case, I like the exposed metal- better to get a grip than on the more slippery leather.
