Loved my Sony 1Z so much...the SP1000 better impressed the 'ell out of me for me to part near $3.5K for it

I love my 1Z as well, now I'm also enjoying the Z1R with it. I'll bite and buy the SP1000, I just hate the balanced port.

No USB C to USB C cable. dont think your going to get the gigabit transfer they advertise with that cable. will be interesting to see if the player can handle USB C to USB C.

This player does look incredibly good. Saw a video of it on YouTube. However wish it wasn't priced so high. Will probably pass on this player for now and wait for their future players to get closer to the sound quality the Chord Hugo 2 has. If that is even possible? My guess I've got a really long wait! Hehe.

I checked it out briefly at LAAS last weekend. In that environment, it's hard to discern the SQ beyond "at least as good as the 380", but one thing is obvious: it's gorgeous! The screen is really big and with good color and dot pitch, like a good phone screen. And the new processor lets them do some cool UI stuff like translucent menus, as well as making it amazingly smooth and responsive. IMHO, this is like the Focal Utopia in that it's a flagship that actually feels as expensive as it is.

A&K said the first shipment to the US is in customs now so I would expect to see them hitting the streets within a few weeks...

do you know if this info is about both versions SSteel and Copper or only the Stainless Steel version because I have heard that copper will follow the Stainless Steel about one month later sometime in July.

i am just wondering which company would make an amp for this new dap, and why did AK not go for making an themselves to work flawlessly with this dap

Did they release the amp sled for the AK380 at the same time as the 380? I'd think that's the kind of thing they release later, but I can't recall.

Either way, the Cavalli Liquid Spark should be coming soon and that's a fantastic amp. Should pair well with this size-wise too.
