There's going to be a challenge in acquiring dac chips in mass quantities.
The successor may take a while...

Yes, that's quite true.
To design normally it's in the digital realm i.e. circuit design modeling.
Thereafter, creating the mock-up, several of them.
When the concept has been realised, production starts...

Ever so reliable, fw even for the earlier daps!
This is the name i'd support
The successor is very much worth the wait...

Personally i prefer ESS Sabre Dacs. But again, depends on the implementation
Yea, personally me, too.
That FPGA system, if constructive budget allows, is a very welcome addition also. Seem it saves battery and increase back up time...

Instant. fricking. buy.
The DX220 was the one that got away, the only DAP around that price point that felt worthy. I almost splurged $1K for a nice package on here with all of the amps modded etc. but by that point the 220 was starting to reach obsolescence, with the DX300 in the wings.
The 9038Pro is also a DAC chip that wowed me recently, as heard in the SE180. That combination seems sooo good, and I am guessing there will be interchangeable modules.
Can anyone enlighten us on the Mandarin text? Does it all seem legit?

These are early days, the discussion is from weibo.cn.
DC-05 dac dongle is also featured in that discussion.
For now:
DX240
Compatible with AMP1 to AMP8. (I have no idea right now, why the amp9 was not included, since they are modular in size)
In-house developed FPGA-Master Technology
ESS ES9038Pro
Snapdragon 660

Did you get the DX300? Or did you not get it for price/sound reasons?

The 9038 Pro doesn't necessarily indicate how good it'll sound too. I hope it doesn't go the way the DX300 did and make it sound warm.

By Ibasso's dap production history the 300 (for me) is the most accomplished device of all.
