A case is always a good investment it these kinds of products.
I had to buy a second Cowon J3 before as a result of it falling out of my pocket.
PDAir sells some leather and silicone cases for the Z at a decent price.

I own a leather case by PDAir.  Though it is pretty and very well made but it failed to properly protect my Z1070 at the bottom right corner when I accidentally dropped it.  Not a big deal, but beware when purchasing PDAir case.

I'm starting to feel addicted to the internet, I'm not supposed to be here this much.  I hope I love my Z1070, and find a suitable excellent IEM for it, CK100Pro? CKM1000?  I don't know, I need something new!  Then I can get that 'end-game' feeling and spend some time offline. =/

Don't worry, as soon as you get your Z , your whole life will be offline....

Came across an NWZ-A844 for cheap... 8GB only but always wanted one of those and couldn't resist... With the Z, my trusty A818 and an NW-E507 that makes my fourth walkman... I think I caught some disease and didn't even notice... And to think I swore off Sony after my minidisc died... So much for that!

Since some may have A84X/A85X, here's a coupe of questions: it came with the WMC-NW010 cable which looks like an LOD, it goes from the Sony proprietary connector to a mini jack... But is it a LOD? The manual calls it an Audio Input Cable.

Question 2: the A844 came with noise cancelling headphones; would those work with the Z?

Just so you know Kiteki. All ATs earphones I own sound fantabulous on the Z. Just saying. I think if you can find a CKM99 on sale or CKM500. Both are great. Danny bai used to own the CKM1000 says the CKM500 is a better value for certain. Cus those be very spendy. He also mentioned he felt at around $300 they would be worthy of the price. Not at $500 however.

My Sony earphones (MDR EX1000 & EX500) sound great with electronic music in the Z.

Although I have all the other EX series boxed, I'm sure they are matched for Sony walkman. I'm a huge fan of the Sony EX earphones!

... Paired with the "Z", this Heir headphone is a force to be reckoned with. So silky smooth and powerful.  No AMP needed whatsoever!

Come on ..the Z deserves a better picture...
I have the same case...bit pricey.

So far, we have reached a dual consensus...

"The Z sounds better than every player"

"Every earphone sounds great with the Z"

I mean someone said this even kills the iBasso DX100...

As a previous owner of the DX100, I say this is not true.
The DX100 supports 192/24 and supports up-sampling!

The DX100 sonically speaking is better, as better sound-stage with 3d , clearer, more detailed, but not that much.
The Z , as a whole package is better (battery, screen , UI and most importantly size).

The Z will never be able to drive my HE-500, with the efficiency of the DX100, so its a matter of preferences and not a matter of better.

Which brings me to the question, when are you going to get your Z????

I want to read your impressions......

Add a 3rd consensus

'The Z will last longer than any other player available' (as long as its taken care of properly)

Sony products last a long time!

I am liking you more and more...
