also the klipisch x10i work fine but lack bass for me, when i amp it over the d12 with gain up then its fine. The stock headphones have a nice deep bass but lack the middle and high end clarity.
Just got a Digizoid Z02 and loving the sound...the depth and soundstage improved as aswel s the bass impact and extension so yeh IMO amping does help to improve the sound to another level!

Hi, I am very happy owner of a Sony Z1050 (France version). Use them with the Sony EX1000 and sq is outstanding. Volume also is pretty satisfying for my listening but still it is capped.
An interesting fact I noticed is when openin Neutron Player and PowerAMP at the same time, when you play from PowerAMP volume is noticable increased (while Neutron is running on the background). Still seems that music at the higher volume is somewhat distorted. I doubt this happens because of the ex1000.
I would take the risk to experiment with the volume settings above but as stated, no root method is still knwon for 1.21
Also need root in order to teether from a Nokia E51 but which can do only ad-hoc which per se is not supported by the Z.
p.s. Want to point out the SQ with Neutron Player is way better than the higly praised PowerAMP (still great player though)
can someone suggest some iem's to match the 1070. Currently my x10's sound bass light, no extension. I was looking at the ie80's for more bass but comments said they have a recessed soundstage. Any others to try?

Definatly the CKS77, amazing for the $100 asked! People are prefering them to Atrio MG7 and Monster Davis Tributes, buy quite a long way...the bass is crazy and soundstage for an IEM is unreal...the bass somehow doesnt leak into other frequencies too and youve got an ultra clear sound with thumping bass when called for...go check the thread...amazing! Mids and Highs are both superb too! Such great synergy with the Z1060 aswell
Np...unfortunatly not at this time...but a few more people are begining to get the Z that are good with android, once the root becomes available for the new firmware then I think theres a way to dissable the EU volume cap (looks as though its software capped) and with other rooted android phones you can re-assign hard keys, like on my SGS2 I can assign the home button to anything i want...so fingers crossed! Let me shed some light into what iem you all need to try your player with.. You guys want a full sound that is all encompassing nothing flabby or recessed in any part of the sound. Big bold sound fully articulated highs that sparkle when the track calls for it. The biggest depth in full sound you have ever heard with clear bold mids that will play extremely well with all your music not just bassy ones. The bass has to be experienced to believe. These sound like a full on 2.1 in your ears. The CKS77 has the best synergy out of my entire collection of earphones and headphones on my Z1060. You guys want to just hear your tunes or be completely surrounded by it..Try out a CKS77.
I apologize but the TF10 is limp in comparison sound wise compared to the CKS77. They might have better detail as they should over them but that is about it. I should know. I own them as well.
Once a rooted method comes about I´ll try adjusting the values if there in the build.prop, however what will you be using with the Sony as all IEM´s I use have ample volume, but yuo could just import one from the US...it would be cheaper too and you still get the warranty!
