New Sony Walkman NW-A300 Series (Android 12)

On another quick note, tried a kinera celeste gumiho square planar iem yesterday and absolutely loved the sound. Clear, great spacing and room in the stage and very lively with amazing bass.

But the weird shape hurt my ears, it was very light. I got it for 40 dollars on sale, crazy how nice it sounded. So I'm trying the rounded model, shouldn't hurt as much but God their ugly with pandas on the face with fangs. I'd recommend the gumbiho model to anyone, fit probably wouldn't bug most people. Sorry ot but we're basically waiting on Sony 😞

Gumbiho shape

Pandemon ugliness, but better shape for me

No, the earphones themselves will need to be a 2.5mm or 4.4mm balanced cable then use an appropriate 3.5mm balanced adapter
Since the ZX2 the 3.5mm jack accepts a 3.5mm TRRS plug, and PlusSound Audio supports this termination in their offerings. No need for an adapter if you have the correct plug/cable.

true that, but earlier in this post, it has been discussed that is cheaper in case you have already a 2.5mm or a 4.4mm cable, to buy a TRRS 3.5mm adapter instead of buying a 100+ dollars cable with the TRRS 3.5mm connector like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234071957642
I would love to have such cable but I have only a normal 3 pole 3.5mm and I don't want to spend such amount of money

Understood/Got it. Would need to already have the balanced cable 2.5 or 4.4 termination, then the adapter should work fine...

I received my Earman ST DAC AMP today and Meze balanced 4.4 copper cables for my 109s
oh me….What a sonic masterpiece the 306 offers via the Amp using UAPP
I did consider various solutions for thec306 output and opted for the wee Earmen….
to get the best of it, I had to swallow the cost of the Meze 4.4 copper balanced but it was worth it….
Spatious, deep, defined, punchy…… incomparable to the original 3.5mm DAP out 👍🏻👍🏻

Yes, have seen a dedicated 3.5mm balanced with mmcx terminated on ebay (Japanese seller) but over £100 for the cable, vs £10 for adapter for your existing cables.

A normal 3.5mm as supplied with many IEM's won't work is what I meant.

the 3.5 Jack isn't universal?
I updated my post above. Normal 3.5mm of course works fine, but its actually a 4-pole 3.5mm on the A300 series, which can have balanced (seperate) earths if you have right cables or balanced cable using a 3.5mm 4-pole adapter.

I use a 4.4mm to 3.5mm 4-pole adapter with my existing 4.4mm balanced cables for the balanced earth.

Makes a bit of a improvement but not major.
