I was a bit unsure, so that's why I tested... I was comparing to my A105, so who knows... 61 year old ears maybe?

Quick how to:

Install REW. Put the device (A306) in USB DAC mode connected to your computer (you have to open the Walkman player and select the mode in addition to the popup from USB connect). Connect the 3.5 mm to your computer line in.

Start REW and select "Preferences", upper right.

Select "Calibrate soundcard". Select next until this screen. Increase volume on A306 to get close to -12 dBFS:



Select next again as needed until the sweep runs and you will get this screen. Select "All SPL" on the graph options.

No the A105 never had a roll off there was plenty of bass in that model ...I am very curious to test the A306 now my ears are not perfect but if it sounds different from A105 i will instantly know .

A 45, A55, A105 I've had them all and my A306 sounds simular. Sounds better actually but very similar. They've all been a bit on the bright side. But although clear sounding I can't call mine bass light. It has weight and rumble when it is supposed to. Idk what's going on. I read some Japanese reviews last night and no one mentioned low bass.

It's all very strange. But like I said it sounds very similar to a105, which also sounded different than the 507 model.
