What’s the best file format to rip all my cds into? Is .wav king or should I go for FLAC and can anyone use DSD512? Or am I missing the best one to rip into?

Also another question, when should I plug my Walkman back in to charge and when should I unplug it to extend battery life the longest?

Imagine FLAC like a WAV which supports tagging, and that also has a lossless compression function (lossless = no loss). which helps with the storage.

Regarding charging, it would be best if you won't let it reach lower than 5-10%, and it also helps to not fully charge the battery. You could charge it to around 90-95% for example.

Non-Android Walkman players have an option called "Battery Care", which automatically stops charging the player once the battery reaches 90%.

Any Android App that automatically stops charging the battery at 90%?

Maybe that could be possible, but I doubt that it could work without root access, which we don't have at the moment.

I'm liking the new firmware, streaming through Tidal and it sounds better to my ears (or maybe the caps are still burning in).

I just tested Tidal, and it doesn't work any kind of different than other music player apps on the A105 (and ZX507).

Everything just gets upsampled to 32/192, even for "Master" tracks.

I bought a 1TB micro SD for my new ZX507, just this week the current 512GB in my ZX300 ran out of space. I want to start loading up the new 1TB - I assume if I do that in the ZX300 by creating a 'music' folder on the card, the ZX507 will have no problem reading it? - doing on the ZX300 as the ZX507 is away till Christmas.

No problem, it will work. But better is to format the card in the ZX300 first, which will also create a Music folder, and whatever else Sony format does.

Any recommendations for a closed back headphone pairing with the ZX507? I have the MDR-1A on the lower end and HD650 on the higher end of current headphones. Thinking budget of about €500-€600. Ideally one that comes also with a balanced cable.

Maybe the MDR-Z7M2? I have them and they sound great with this DAP

Yes was looking at that. definitely an option - do you think it would be a good upgrade on the 1A? I would assume so anyway at about double the price. Off to watch some reviews! Cheers.
accessory jack offered a good price on z7m2
it's definitely an upgrade, however, I have some concerns whether zx507 200mW amplification is enough to drive them on 100%.

Absolutely. I loved the 1A but sold them when I picked up the Z7M2. I have the Z1R as well but still use the Z7M2 when using my DAP. I found the Z7M2 to have a much fuller sound compared to the 1A.

No worries there, I have the 1AM2 and had the Z7M2 for a short while and the 507 drives them both easily. The Z7M2 was clearly better but I didn't like the fit and at all and the sound was not what I was looking for so I did not kept them. Gave the 1AM2 to my wife, she likes em more than I do.

BHPhotovideo have them on sale for $598.
