SONY NW-ZX500

Hey, can you tell me how you were able to do this? I bought the ZX505 secondhand and then made the mistake of performing a full reset. Everything has reverted back to the original Chinese language interface and I can't navigate thru the player. I'd like to install English firmware as well enable the Play Store. From what I can tell the only way to update the firmware is via Wifi or Music Center for PC, but Music Center isn't detecting any updates. (I'm guessing that for the Chinese firmware, the player is up to date).

~edit - OK, just had to navigate and find the language settings; was able to get into the English interface.

Would still like to install the English firmware to access the Play Store. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for my late response, but the new HF website does not send notifications properly anymore.

Download one of the following file and copy it to the root of the player and launch manually the firmware by going into settings-> system->advanced->system updates (if I remember correctly)

China (no PlayStore)

If someone knows exactly to which region apply each version of the FW please share! Thanks

Here's the Minerva Leather case from Dignis. Also have a tempered glass screen protector installed.

Okay, embarrassingly enough, I'm mostly a streaming guy. Like, entirely a streaming guy these days. So I didn't know the UAPP was an app I needed to download to my Mac, I thought it was just something under settings on the ZX507... Googling it, and it appears to be basically just the Sony Player app for Mac or PC, yes?

SO...

How exactly am I toggling this option to use the High-Res Direct Driver instead of Android Audio SRC, and ensuring those changes take place in the ZX507?

Do I download the Sony Player app to my MacBook, and then like connect my ZX507 to my Mac? What then?

More than happy to run this little experiment, but I am afraid someone will need to lay out the steps for me. I'm like the only tech-idiot millennial in existence.

I’m will like to import/make playlists to my ZX507 but the sony app does not work on MacOS. I’m not using Apple ITunes because it does not handle FLAC files. Any Mac users out there? Which app do you use to make playlist and manage your music?

I use JRiver Music Center on the Mac. I don't sync to the ZX507 but I do to the ZX300 so it should work. Note this is not a free app but they do have a free trial if you want to test it out.

I don't even use the Sony app on Win10.

Just make a folder called "Music" on your sdcard, and transfer it using the normal drag and drop methods with Finder.
If you want to put it directly on device, there's an app https://www.android.com/filetransfer/

I was having connectivity issues with the MWA 105 and android file transfer. I got used to removing the card to upload new music that I haven’t tried out on the ZX507. How do you make playlist?

Hi, I have the EU 507 version. There is any risk if I try to install the japanese fw ?

I would like to completely remove the volume cap, but I didn't find how.
