Hi, I'm a noob in speakers and specs I just want to know if the A1 would be able to power speakers with these specs:
 
GENESIS BookShelf Speakers
Bass reflex
5' woofer
3/4" tweeter
freq. response : 18hz-20khz
power handling : 100 watts
impedance : 8 ohms
HxWxD : 9.5"x6.5"x10"
 
Hopefully I'll add a 10" subwoofer but I don't know the specs. Appreciate your help. TIA!

Those are DIY speakers being sold here in the Philippines that have very good reviews. Nvm the subwoofer, just wanna know if the A1 can power the bookshelf speakers since my room is a bit small anyway . Thanks!

Due to the impedance and the size of Middle/Bass driver, I think A1 can dirve it but I am not sure whether it can drive it well! some times bookshelf speakers also need huge power, like some high impedance /low sensivitive speakers!
 
 
For speakers, there are too many brand and model, and hard to have a conclution about which is better! but headphone is more simple, because DT880/990, K701/702, HD600/650 is most popular headphones!

I don't think anyone in the Philippines has the A1 yet so there's no way for me to test unfortunately. Anyway, thanks for the honest reply!

Is the A1 capable to drive the HiFiMAN HE-6 and the AKG K-1000 from its speaker posts?
When will the A1 be available in Germany? Many thanks.

Depend on the specifiction, A1 should drive the HE-6 , K-1000, to very very low loundness, but I am not sure whether the SQ will be good enough!
 
Anyway, A1 is design to drive speaker but not headphone! and compare with two different loader, headphone usually need lower THD, Noise than
 
speaker amplifier!
 
For example, you may not notice the 0.1% distortion in speaker, but you can notice it in your headphone system!

So looking forward to one of these, I have just bought a pair of DIY speakers based on the Fostex FE206E full range drivers, with sensitivity of over 96dB. This should be an ideal amp to power them. You will be supplying a power supply with this amp?

Yes, for such full range drivers with high sensitivity, A1 is very suitable! and of course there will come with a PSU with A1!

I know it might be inappropriate to ask for this but can you please pair this with some various speakers out there, for example like the V1.8 sold by head-direct.
I am looking for a small size system for my desktop. I really love my Jamo S604 speakers but they just way to big and I never used them at their full max power. thanks
