There's an 8 and 12 foot. Sound is good, it's standard PVC so not very flexible, a bit heavy.

Hmm, it appears that the Philips Funai deal has hit the cliffs.

WOOX huh? Terrible name. Hopefully it doesn't end up stamped all over future products.

Well, that definitely sucks... guess the funai deal falling through means the X1s aren't getting cheaper in the future.
And Woox really does sound awful by the way, good luck to them trying to market that to anyone whatsoever.

Thanks again for the suggestion. Going to pick one of these up. Last question.. Can you recommend a good quality 6.3 mm adapter plug for this cable? I'm assuming one can use (I hope) a 6.3 mm plug with it. As I will be plugging it into my receiver often.

I use one like this, works fine with the mediabridge cable

it's ashame, the cable that comes with the X1 looks really nice. Phillips obviously had its reasons for pairing the X1 with such a high resistance cable, I just wonder what they were?

I got my X1 yesterday and I'm currently driving it through my macbook pro. This is my first high quality headphone so I was wondering is there any consensus on a reasonably priced DAC/amp that works well with the X1. From what I've read so far I've heard that these don't sound great on the FiiO E10 but are good with the E17 (and even better with the E17+E09K)?

How about slightly higher end systems like the EHP O2D, HRT Microstreamer  or Audioquest Dragonfly. Would these be a big step up in terms of sound quality from the cheaper options?

Any other suggestions in the budget DAC/amp category?

Thanks,
Tom

I just want to add that I only care about a DAC/amp for connecting to my laptop so I don't necessarily need a lot of features like the E17 has. Also, the way the amp/DAC looks is not important to me, I think I read an earlier post that said the cheap D03K works really well with this headphone?

My X1's arrived a couple of days ago along with my new Xonar Essence STX. I must say I am impressed with them, they are a very surprising headphone. Beyond my expectations in various fields.

I have a Sennheiser Pro coiled cable in the post as well. I chose it simply because I sit very close to my PC and having used my Koss Pro DJ100's for so long, I took for granted how convenient it was to have a coiled cable.
