Those giant L an R markings. HAHAHHAHAHA.

Other than that horrible decision in aesthetics, it is a pretty nice and comfy looking headphone.

According to the product spec sheet the headphones have a steel headband, angled drivers (just like its predecessor) and the package will include a 1.6m extension (3.5mm female to 3.5mm male) and a 6.3mm adapter. 32ohms and 102dB of sensitivity, probably those are easy to drive cans just like the Fidelio line.

The deal on these cans is good but I can't find a nice deal on the new bluetooth M1s. They are listed on Amazon.de for 280 Euros.

I know they aren't out yet, though.

Interesting decision on the gigantic lettering since the only people that can see it are people not wearing/watching you wear the phones....
I would intentionally wear them backward and insist that it was correct just to confuse the screw out of people

Imo, they seriously need to get rid of those letters. If they don't, then they should also provide other lettering options. For example, replace the "R" with "Doo" and the "L" with "fus" lol.

Hooray Just got mine in yesterday :).

My current setup :). Wanted to try something new with the Philips Fidelio X1 to upgrade from HD555s (that replaced HD280s).

Been great for games so far and bioshock infinite is working great with cmss-3D with the elevation filter and macrofx on.

Mad Dogs 3.2 Coming next week for my closed setup and can't wait to hear those too!

LOL

I thought that "L" was some kind of watermark over the picture until I scrolled down and saw the guy wearing them.  I think putting those big "L" and "R"s on the outside was a fail as it makes it look like some kind of headphone for special-needs children.

The rest of it looks nice.

9500 is a big downgrade in aesthetics IMO.

Anyone tested the X1 with the Centrance Dacport andAudioquest Dragonfly side by side?

I think the Dacport is warmer, and a bit more spacious while the Dragonfly is more articulate and neutral.

Wondering if anyone has tested the two side by side for synergy.

The X1 doesn't really need the dragonfly, something like the Fiio17 would drive them with plenty of force to spare.

It doesn't take much to get the best out of the X1's.

Yup. Sounds great off of the C&C BH amp. And even better off the E12 amp (really nice sub-bass boost).
