How would do these do for competitive gaming, like MW2 and COD 4 and COD 5?
I quite enjoy X1 at the moment. There are a few things I would like to have different. I wouldn't mind if bass would be more defined and compact. On the other hand I would like to have sealed headphones with similar sound. Any recommendations? AKG 550 maybe? I have AKG 271S which doesen't suit me (no bass, no bass, just to dry midrange). Can anyone make a comparison with Ultrasone pro 900 or even ATH W1000X. The price bracket is different, but anyway ...

First of all: it's a shame that it's nice looking cable is a piece of garbage (confirms the China-related story I told above once again) and after these 140 pages I still don't know which replacement cable I need since I prefer a cable with a 1/4 inch jack (just like the original Philips cable).
Second: since I really like my HD595's and don't like Beats' oomph, will I like the X1's sound? (I'm not able to test them in the neighborhood). I listen to a lot of genres and I like clear sound with some warmth and a deep bass-response (not bass-heavy or overpowerd bass, but able to go deep).
So what's your opinion? And which cable do you propose (keeping in mind I prefer a 1/4 jack)?
These have extremely high mid bass quantity and not the best extension. I think you should look into the HE-400 for deep, punchy bass without being overpowering at all.

I would also be interested if there are any such cables worth pursuing. Based on this thread it seems most have gone with 3.5mm cables. I would imagine there is a reason for this.
Drive ability | 16~150Ω(recommend) |
Output Power | > 100 mW@32Ω |
I dont think its that worth a discussion, ONLY IF you are driving it with just the source. FYI, i have heard it through its stack cable using my JDS O2, there was NO PERCIEVED DIFFERENCE in SQ. So advantage now is: The stack cable looks cool and elegant!

best bet is AKG 550 i would say!
He-400 is too warm! probably the steepest U-curve headphones i have seen. A sound signature i will only come to like if i may to be placed in a balcony of a hilltop condo with a hot cappuccino and rain!
