[New] Philips Fidelio X1

It'll be interesting to see how the one I'm going to make stacks up against them.

Now I almost feel pressure to preform.

Hoping the final materials arrive Monday or Tuesday.

If the Mediabrige cable ends up being under 0.5ohms, I won't get the Monoprice cable. I can't wait to see your cable. :)

edit: Lol, maaaan, the X1 tickles the top of my left ear when the bass hits.

I know it's not the driver, as I flip it over, and I don't have any issues with my right ear, though it doesn't sit the same way.

Still, I had the same thing happen with my D7000s. The vibration just tickles!

I'm pretty sure that strong bass causes the cloth covering the driver to vibrate and flap, and if that touches your ear it will tickle.

Yeah, if I positioning it differently, it doesn't tickle, but at the optimal placement, it gets me all the time. Lol.

Yay, tested my cables.

Philips stock cable - 1.8ohm (Seems to confirm that they are no bueno). :frowning2:

edited: Mediabridge - 0.4ohm (Pretty good. As long as it's under 1ohm, you're good). I even said it was better, but the Inakustik was better. Confirmed as it's 0.2ohm.

Considering the Mediabridge is 0.4, I'm almost positive it's the same cable as Monoprice with cable by cable variation..

I just saw this cable at a store near my office. Anyone tried it before, slightly more expensive than the mediabridge or monoprice ones.

It's more expensive because it's the Best Buy mark up. Also, it's flat style. Not gonna lie, it does look nice, but the plugs look just like the MP and MB cables.

This one looks very nice.

AGH! I totally would buy this one, but it doesn't have the little space for clearance. It wouldn't go all the way into the X1, as the housing/pads wouldn't allow it. :frowning2:

Hello

I have now received the v-moda and the inakustik premium.
What I'm reading is :
Stock cable : 2,1 ohm
V-moda (2m) : 1,6 ohm
Inakustik (1,5m) : 0,5 ohm

From fast listenings, in my order of preference :
1. Inakustik
2. Stock
3. V-moda (very disapointed by this one actually)

Did you subtract the resistance in the multimeter itself? Because from the looks of the stock cable and the Inakustik cables, your multimeter is adding 0.3ohm. Just wondering.

I am actually disappointed in the V-moda cable aslo. It came with my MD so I have been A/B'ing it here and there with the Pipeline cable I bought for the X1. It is clearly not as good.

Now I have to search for a replacement cable for the MD because the Pipeline cable doesn't fit through its entry slot. It's an issue similar to having a case on your phone and the cable not fitting.

Monoprice/Mediabridge, gogogogogo.

I'm STILL searching. :frowning2:

Make sure your cables have:

If it doesn't, it may not fit the X1.

The Pipeline cable I have for the X1 sells for 25$ at radio shack. It's a bit steep, but to me it's worth it. I have heard bad things about the 4ft cable not being durable, though.

I will give one of those monoprice/mediabridge cables a try for the MD. I was digging the angled side of the V-moda cable, though
