I'm not sure if it is a sale price but AccessoryJack.com has the Fidelio X1 for $399.99 USD with Free Shipping. I now have my pair on the way!

Accessoryjack is on audio technica's and monster's unauthorized retailer lists. People have said they've gotten legit headphones from them but I'd worry about the warranty being recognized by the manufacturer.

Oh, I see. I've ordered from them before with no warranty issues through Philips. Philips doesn't require proof of purchase. They ask for model number and date of purchase, that's it. I'll take my chances!

Edit: Hope my post didn't sound rude, I'm just excited! :D

What are you saying? The last price I saw was $419.99 plus shipping.

Just saying, they are located in China, and I'm not sure if you'd have to ship back to them if you have any issues.

What most of us are waiting for is sellers in the US.

That makes more sense, I thought people were waiting for the price to drop.

I searched and didn't find any responses about the Audioengine D1 and the X1. Are they a good fit?

I'm having a strange problem with my Fidelio x1, the volume is really low!

They are absoluty unplayable with my smartphone note2 and even with integrated motherboard (ALC889)
i must turn volume to 85/90 max to reach a good sound.
I've tried them  also on my Terratec Phase 24 headphone jack that I think has plenty of power and they sound good now (100%volume)
but it is really strange for a 30Ohm headphone being so hard to drive.
So..any advice?

Low ohm =/= easy to drive.

Look at the K701/2. They behave like 600ohm headphones, but are only about 64ohm.

Planars, like the HE-4 are about 40ohm. They require a ridiculous amount of power.
