[New] Philips Fidelio X1

Just listened to Lose Yourself To Dance and Get Lucky (flac, via laptop->HifimeDIY->dac/E12), and it sounds great. I usually throw on the X1's for trance or EDM - awesome. Love the bass. Maybe not the most sub-bass, but for open cans, it's very good, and they can easily handle a lot of bass.

Awesome! I will be ordering these soon, glad to hear that these cans work well with EDM.

Thanks for your help!

I went through the Daft Punk phase when the the album first dropped.  Do yourself a favor and get a lossless copy of it, these cans will blow you away.  Turn it up and just drift away.

Side note: Anyone recommend any IEM's that have similar characteristics to the X1's.  Unhappy with my UE500's and Sennheisers.

I have both the CD and Vinyl of Random Access Memories, thanks for getting me hyped for these headphones. I will probably buy them this weekend and get them next week.

Much better dynamic range on the vinyl, though this is one of few albums where compression is done to get its signature sound. The X1s do a decent job with this album, so no worries.

I'm digging the KEF M200's. Tricky for some people to get a good fit/seal (especially with the stock tips), but once accomplished, they have beautiful bass and overall lush and non-fatiguing sound that is similar to the X1's imo.

Hey guys, any recommendation for hard carrying case for Philips X1? I travel quite a bit.
Will this fit?

Also, if someone can provide the dimension for the headphone will be awesome! :p

so i've read many pages on this thread, i've seen chico talking with the Philips Customer Service asking how to get replacement earpad.
well 247 pages is a bit too much, so there is any solution or philips completely ignored the subject ?

Because this is THE THING that make me hesitate to buy it.
Should i hesitate ?

Is there any Headphone THAT GOOD (FYI i love bass.) in the 200€-250€ price range ?
And the fact that i have a big/large head would be a problem for the x1 ?

Any thoughts on the mids, treble, and soundstage of the Senn HD598's vs the X1's?

I'm quite sure the bass on the X1's is better, following all the reviews - but the
X1's are uncomfortably tight across the top of my head (even after a very recent
haircut :D).

I like the sound of the X1's a lot, and I'm wondering if the HD 598's compare favorably.

Thanks in advance for any input on this.

I just sold off my HD598 after buying the X1 last week. The X1 is more suitable to my tastes. The HD598 has a larger soundstage but does not sound as musical to my ears. The treble of HD598 were a little more present due to the less bass but not enough to actually make a big difference. I like the mids of the X1 more though..
