since i have a surface book 2, and it’s a 2 in 1.

the magnets were causing so much static and crackle i couldn’t even listen to them (micro bl)

i figured this out and this is my set up.

Does it work the same way? even though it’s not directly connected to the amp?

Can you be more specific please? How does your setup look like currently?

This is the setup that works for Surface users

(Surface Book 2 Laptop) >>> male USB C to USB 3.0 adaper >>> iDefender w/iPower + iSilencer >>> male USB A/B cable >>> iGalvanic 3.0 >>> male USB A/B USB cable >>> iPurifier3 >>> Micro iDSD Black Label>>> Legend X>>> OG Kush>>> Eargasm >>> Heaven

My previous message did not include the male USB C to USB 3.0 adaptor and had the iDefender/iSilencer plugged separately in their own on the other side of the computer. Does that method work?

Edit: There is still a tiny tiny bit of static that pops every once in a while but very rarely

Second Edit: Does anyone here prefer the iSilencier>>>iDefender/iPower?

Do you get any pops without iPurifier3.0 in the chain now?

Edit: What. Now it isn’t registering in my computer. the whole setup is not working now. When i plug it in, it says usb device is not recognized. do you have a solution.

as for the pops i was trying to determine which one works better and i unplugged the ipurifier and tried it, worked nicely, and was gnna try the ipurifier with it but now it’s not recognizing anything HELP!

The best way would be to unplug everything, restart your laptop and connect devices one at a time to diagnose what actually caused the current state. But here we're not able to help you thoroughly.

Got everything to work. By unplugging and restarting. And after trying with and without the purifier, im not sure if this device is necessary or unnecessary. Without it, the music sounds more lively because its more loud, but it loses resolution. With it, its the other way around, more resolution, but less loud and musical. But the differences are very tiny. I think i'm going to switch between the two.

ALSO
Last thing, I wanted to ask
My previous message did not include the male USB C to USB 3.0 adaptor and had the iDefender/iSilencer plugged separately in their own on the other side of the computer. Does that method work? (Heard only the iSliencer works like that)

Yes it still pops with the iPurifier3.0 :/ little but enough to turn you away from it sometimes

Provided that there are no ground loop issues on a system, what's the difference between using the iDefender and using a Y USB cable with one end (data only) connected to the PC and the other end (power) to a battery/LPS?

Hi there,

I'm planning to try both the iSilencer and iDefender.

I will use them with a Sennheiser GSX 1200 and ifi iDSD Black Label. Since they're both DAC/AMP i'll use them separately or like this : PC > GSX 1200 > iDSD Black Label > Headphones. Depending on what i'm doing on my PC.

1) My question is which ifi Audio Ipower should i get for the iDefender ? 5V, 9V 12V, 15V ?

2) Also if i want to do a chain like i've seen on other posts, does it matters if i plug the iSilencer first and vice versa with the iDefender ?

Any advice is more than welcome, thanks!

1. 5V.
2. iDefender comes in as first, then iSilencer. But what we'd suggest is to try iPurifier3.0 type A instead of iSilencer. Not only it's more effective than iSilencer, it also allows one to use regular USB cables.

1) So if i get it right, my chain should look like something like this : PC > iDefender > Cable USB > iPurifier3 > iDSD Black Label > Headphones ?

2) Sometimes i will be using my GSX 1200 as a DAC with my iDSD BL as an AMP, what should i do with that setup ? I believe the iPurifier type A comes with a Micro USB adapter, is this the one i should use since this DAC only comes with a Micro USB socket ?

PC > iDefender > Cable USB > iPurifier3 > Adapter Micro USB > GSX 1200 > Cable Jack > iDSD BL > Headphones

Is this correct ?

Yup, that's it.
