Which custom cables are available?

From what I know,

Its weird, I tried a set of Layla at a shop and thinking it would best my rox uni by miles. The thing is that I couldn't tell huge difference between them. I told the guy at the shop my impression and he said another of his customer had the same impression and that guy actually went for Angie because she had a much more different characteristic to the rox.

I bought my rox in Japan and at the same time I also bought the se846 since I got duty free rebate on those. I tried both of them extensively and came to the conclusion that the rox was more suitable for me because I prefer the huge soundstage a bit more.

I did find the sound muffled at the beginning but once I got used to it. It was ok. Like everyone have said, the Roxanne should be called ROCKanne. Its huge.

Hmm, think I'll need to listen to a pair of Roxannes at CanJam as I am still nervous of walking around with the Layla's plugged in to my ears... If they're THAT close...

Re Rox vs 846, do you hear a mid-treble boost on the 846 that makes the sound 'grainy'?

Agreed, the Layla is very hyped because of the massive price increase. But its basically the Roxanne with a different tuning. I prefer the musical Roxannes and other brands for neutral since JHA doesn't really have a reference neutral IEM.

I'm on my second replacement cable and both sound the same. It would be quite a coincidence that both are defective. I wanted a spare just invade the first one became faulty and the new ones sound so bad, the transparent quality of the Roxanne is completely gone even with the bass turned all the way down. Does anyone know of a good third party Roxanne cable manufacturer? I can't find any. Thanks.

You can check on Plus sound cable, Beat audio cable & Double Helix cable.

Bad news, the new JH audio Roxanne, Angie and Layla cables sound terrible compared to the old ones. No transparency and boomy bass. I hate that people now ordering these iems aren't going to hear what they are capable of. If you bought your roxannes a long time ago then you're lucky. Order one of the spare cables (the ones now being used for new orders) and if you have old roxannes you'll hear what I'm taking about. You'll notice that your old Roxanne cables are heavier than the old ones too. I'm only posting this because I think it's unfair that people may read the reviews here and place an order expecting something other than what they'll be getting. No transparency, no depth just boomy bass and poor resolution (compared to the older cables). JH audio changed cable manufacturers and I'm not sure that such a change would affect sound quality but it seems something else was changed as well. Again, just posting this so that people don't make a purchase based on old reviews.

That is indeed unfair. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Hopefully, they won't hold you to the 1 year warranty and will fix it for free. We'll see.

Anyone has issues with universal roxannes cracking? My nozzle just cracked when i was removing the comply tips, sent the set to my local dealer in singapore and they had to send it back to jh which charged me $212 sgd to get it fixed. The thing is they merely put another layer of acrylic over it and i can still see the crack, worse of all its still under warranty

If that's how they repair it, you can buy your own Fotoplast and a $15 ultraviolet light and you could do the same thing.
