I'm not sure if this would suit your needs, or be too bulky for portable use, but this is what I picked up to use with the A&K XB10:

Update: I went with the seller's balanced cable terminated for my needs as TRRS. Great decision, as it turns out, both for sound and bespoke craftsmanship. So thanks for the tip!

FYI for those auditioning: the AK70 and the Audioquest Nighthawks in balanced mode are one sweet match. This from a longtime fan of the Denon ADH-5000's organic way with folk, acoustic jazz, choral and chamber music. I'm impressed this level of SQ is now a portable reality; my bulky desktop rigs of the past can but look on and sigh. :)

So I just upgraded from AK Jr to AK70, and I have some issues with playlist editing.

I want to basically import my AK Jr playlists to my AK70. I know that's impossible as AK Jr uses PLS while AK70 uses M3U. So I tried making a playlist manually on the AK70, adding a few songs onto it using the AK70, and copying that to my computer. Then I text edited the file and copied it back to the AK70...and on the AK70 it basically says it has "0 songs". And when I copied that file (on my AK70) back to my computer, and opened it up with Notepad...it was blank.

So is it impossible to text edit the m3u playlists on AK70? Do you have to do it by hand on the actual AK70 device?

  Hi!

Can someone make a comparison about the hissing (or not hissing) level of the AK70?

Hiss is higher than AK380, and a bit higher than an iPhone 6, but nothing like the original AK100. Pretty good, but you can hear it through Ultrasone IQ, the new T8iE (barely), and of course through the Shure SE846. It's palatable and doesn't fluctuate with voltage levels.

Hey guys! I´ve noticed that some of you see the ak70 as the perfect pairing fo the MoJo but, why not just use a much less expensive DAP like x3ii or something like that? also does the ak70 stands well as a standalone dap? i'm deciding between this and the x7 but i dont know!

if you're driving IEM's/earbuds, yes the AK70 is perfect and can drive anything even the 320 Ohm VE Zen 2 (I tried tonight). Full size headphones with higher impedence like HD600 will require an amp.

They don't 'require' an amp, but a person may want more volume from them than the AK70 can produce.
