How can you be sure? The Denon D1100 cost half, there must be some other differences.

Even if it is a wooden d1100, it's most likely not just a wooden d1100. Small changes in housing, damping, and whatever small details can make a difference in sound. Specifications don't say much about the sound. Only listening to it can reveal if its really worth the $.

According to early press it is supposed to be a limited edition. I have not been able to find out how many pairs will be issued yet but would like to know.
