Forget about the headphones - look at that beautiful turntable!!!!!  Sweet.

Skylab, I think this is one of those purchases where you must first bribe the Chief Inspector... A.K.A. the wife.

Those headphones are lookin' snazzy! The talk of recessed mids are what have always kept me away from the beautiful and classy Denon woodies. Here's to hoping they changed up the house sound!

That new Denon TT looks like it might be as nice as the Denon decks of yore - like my precious DP-59L:

WHO KNOWS? Some interesting tidbits. The cable is only 1.3 meters!

Compare:

D5000                                 AHA-100
5-45,000 mW                        5-37,000 mW           <-- frequency
1,800 mW                            1,300 mW                <--max output
106 dB/mW                          101 dB/mW        <-- sensitivity
25 ohm imp.                            32 ohm

Both use the same magnet, so not much there...

Your is visually more attractive than the 100th anniversary one imo, Skylab.

Looks like this could be a portable solution for Denon. Seeing as many other brands are bringing out some insanely priced portables of late.

MUST HAVE.  Will mow lawns, rake leaves, shovel snow, babysit, wash cars, prostitute, paint fences, and/or sell my soul to raise cash for this.

I am actually a little disappointed that there special edition anniversary can is  probably not even going to be as good as the d7000. I was hoping for more of a statement can from them.

At an official MSRP of 999$, I think the D7000 qualifies as a statement headphone.  And it's only been out a couple years, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a D9000 in the not-too-distant future.

x2

I do hope that there is a least some sort of replacement model for the D7000 coming soon but a statement can would be my dream. The 100th anniversary seems like an opportune time. Too bad.
