1000+ Head-Fier
I wonder if a BDA-2 (used ones go for about $1,100) would be an even better combo for the BHA-1...Not just the TT2. But the combo of the BHA-1 & Hugo 2 portable has been amazing for me.
Such a slammy stack chain.

Is the GSX-MKII not too similar to the BHA-1?I would agree. Knowing what I know now I would have stuck with my TT2/HMS/Luxman P-750. When I got the Dave, it made me change my whole system and how I was listening. The Luxman wasn't transparent enough so I moved on to the GS-X MK2 and never looked back. ThGS-X MK2 or GS-X Mini are another set of amps you should consider.
Having heard both and currently owning… And possibly selling… A BHA-1, I can at least tell you that for me to BHA1 is smooth, not at all thin or peaky, and tonally is one of the most refined headphone amps, solid-state, I know of.Is the GSX-MKII not too similar to the BHA-1?
I heard that the GSX Mini is a bit warmer...
Thanks, but you replied to an 8 month old post of mine. Since last July I owned and sold both the BHA-1 and GSX-Mini. I had a good time with them, they are both punchy SS amps with excellent bass. The Bryston is a little more refined and a little more energetic which bothered me in the upper frequencies after a while, but I loved how it did bass. The Mini indeed was a bit warmer but still very punchy and detailed. I didn't have treble issues on the GSX. Eventually I sold the Mini too as I moved on towards tube amps.Having heard both and currently owning… And possibly selling… A BHA-1, I can at least tell you that for me to BHA1 is smooth, not at all thin or peaky, and tonally is one of the most refined headphone amps, solid-state, I know of.
The Holo bliss is another realm, but then it’s a game changer compared to most of the best headphone amps on the market.
I don’t think at this level that “warmth“ is going to be a relevant thing. Those are both excellent, well designed amplifiers. I just happen to like the Bryston best of all at your good list OK that that price range
Sorry! There was a brand new post about the BDA2, and I assumed....Thanks, but you replied to an 8 month old post of mine. Since last July I owned and sold both the BHA-1 and GSX-Mini. First I went R2R with my DACs and then a few weeks ago purchased a Cayin HA-3A transformer coupled tube amplifier with some NOS tubes. Right now it feels I will never go back to delta/sigma or solid state.Sorry! There was a brand new post about the BDA2, and I assumed....
I'm curious where you landed. What was your next step?
Your sequence to integrate the Lokius looks to be correctA couple of month ago I bought an BHA-1 which I really like. Yesterday, I bought a used BDA-1. I also, use a Schiit Lokius EQ and listen to CDs.
I just want to know if I have the proper sequence for connecting these four audio items. I am not tech savvy, so, I appreciate someone’s help tremendously.
If I have it right, can someone just tell me so, please & thank you. If not, can someone explain to me “how“ the sequence should go, please & thank you.
So this is how I think the sequence should go :
Teac PD-H600 > SPDIF > BDA-1 > XLR/ RCA > Lokius EQ > XLR/ RCA > BHA-1
CD player/ SPDIF >
BDA-1; XLR/ RCA >
Schiit Lokius EQ; XLR/ RCA >
BHA-1
Thank you to anyone willing to help me out. Much appreciated.
Thank you Slim, much appreciated.Your sequence to integrate the Lokius looks to be correct
Just seeing this. I'd think somewhere in the 900-1100 range. They seem to be popping up occasionally at this price on various forums.what will be a fair price for a black one good condition, no box?
European model
