Not just the TT2. But the combo of the BHA-1 & Hugo 2 portable has been amazing for me.

Such a slammy stack chain.

I wonder if a BDA-2 (used ones go for about $1,100) would be an even better combo for the BHA-1...

I would agree. Knowing what I know now I would have stuck with my TT2/HMS/Luxman P-750. When I got the Dave, it made me change my whole system and how I was listening. The Luxman wasn't transparent enough so I moved on to the GS-X MK2 and never looked back. ThGS-X MK2 or GS-X Mini are another set of amps you should consider.
Is the GSX-MKII not too similar to the BHA-1?
I heard that the GSX Mini is a bit warmer...

Having heard both and currently owning… And possibly selling… A BHA-1, I can at least tell you that for me to BHA1 is smooth, not at all thin or peaky, and tonally is one of the most refined headphone amps, solid-state, I know of.

The Holo bliss is another realm, but then it’s a game changer compared to most of the best headphone amps on the market.

I don’t think at this level that “warmth“ is going to be a relevant thing. Those are both excellent, well designed amplifiers. I just happen to like the Bryston best of all at your good list OK that that price range

Thanks, but you replied to an 8 month old post of mine. Since last July I owned and sold both the BHA-1 and GSX-Mini. I had a good time with them, they are both punchy SS amps with excellent bass. The Bryston is a little more refined and a little more energetic which bothered me in the upper frequencies after a while, but I loved how it did bass. The Mini indeed was a bit warmer but still very punchy and detailed. I didn't have treble issues on the GSX. Eventually I sold the Mini too as I moved on towards tube amps.

Sorry! There was a brand new post about the BDA2, and I assumed....
I'm curious where you landed. What was your next step?

First I went R2R with my DACs and then a few weeks ago purchased a Cayin HA-3A transformer coupled tube amplifier with some NOS tubes. Right now it feels I will never go back to delta/sigma or solid state. :)

I want to join the chorus of folks extolling the BHA-1 in this thread. After years of switching SS and tube amps, headphone pairings, searching for the do-it-all, never leave your chain amp, the no-hype BHA-1 is the final answer. You have to rid yourself of the thought that "something this old can't be so good, can it?". No innovation in a decade? Why are they selling so cheap used?

When I first got my used BHA-1, I plugged it into a Denafrips Ares II. Compared to everything I'd heard before, I thought the amp sounded crispy, very tight and accurate treble sounds that aren't rolled off in any way, clean and present bass. Power for days. I thought that crispness might be too hot for my ears on the high end. Give it a warm headphone (I listen exclusively to ZMFs now), and damn does it just work perfectly. The detail retrieval, space, instrument separation are the best I've heard in the load of higher end amps I've tried.

Scaling it up with a Yggy LIM, it just becomes other worldly. The sound stage seems endless both in width and depth, spacial details and room reverbs I've not heard before, hearing a guitar break and distort like you're standing next to the amp. It really is true listening from inside out.

If you're thinking about it, just try it. Maybe it'll be the end game as it has been for me. Every time I get the itch to try something new, I just always end up catching and releasing.

A couple of months ago I bought an BHA-1 which I really like. Yesterday, I bought a used BDA-1. I also, use a Schiit Lokius EQ and listen to CDs.
I just want to know if I have the proper sequence for connecting these four audio items. I am not tech savvy, so, I would appreciate someone’s help tremendously.

If I have it right, can someone just tell me so, please & thank you. If not, can someone explain to me “how“ the sequence should go, please & thank you.

So this is how I think the sequence should go :

Teac PD-H600 > SPDIF > BDA-1 > XLR/ RCA > Lokius EQ > XLR/ RCA > BHA-1

Your sequence to integrate the Lokius looks to be correct
