Hi guys,
I'm looking to buy a new pair of headphones along with a desktop amp/dac combo. Hears the gear I was looking at:
audio technica ath-m50
Hifiman ef2a
 
I listen to pretty much everything, Classical, jazz, Hip-hop, a bit of electronic music, choral, Steve Reich
 
I've read about some problems with the EF2A which is why I'm asking for suggestions
 
My budget is under $400

is this your first amp/dac setup? 
Im not sure about the M50's for the music you like, you may need something with a better soundstage.

Yes this is my first setup with a DAC/amp.
A lot of people have been saying that about the m50's, any suggestions?

Beyerdynamic DT880/DT990 250ohm or 600ohm. Perhaps the Sennheiser HD595/598/600? I hear Sennheiser is good for classical and jazz.

What source(s) are you plugging the headphones into?
Is the headphone audio for music? movies? gaming?
