First of all, typical new headfier here, recently decided to get into the whole (budget) audiophile scene, so after much searching I decided to get the Sony MDR-V6, fairly flat response, not very bass heavy and for casual listening reviewers agreed it was a good set, very happy with them btw, and even though I heard they are fairly easy to drive I found a good price and got the Fiio e17, very happy about that too, it is an amazing little device, the USB DAC option was the other strong point for getting.
My question is, I'm aware I need the fiio E9 coupled to the E17 for the whole desktop amp experience, or the L9 LOD to bypass the amp and connect to active speakers, but, what could happen if I connect the Fiio E17 thru USB to the computer and use a 3.5mm cable to connect from the Fiio E17 to the Line In (for iPod/music player) of my desktop speakers and subwoofer system, Creative P7800, I'm afraid it could damage the Fiio, the speakers or both, thanks in advance to any advice.
