New Head-Fi Update

I absolutely hate the new site update. It is a complete disaster.

At the very least, there needs to be an official guide for the new Head-Fi.

I'm too annoyed to make a full list of grievances, but let's start with these:

• I had to reset my password to even log in.
• Basic use of the site has become a chore.
  
• All my activity while the site was being updated has been deleted. (Private messages, profile and signature updates, etc.)
• I don't even remember how I found the link to edit my stuff. By the way, here's the link, for anyone who is lost: https://www.head-fi.org/f/account/personal-details
  
• My trader feedback was significantly reduced, and I think I know why: it only lists selling history and buying history, but not (literal) trading history! Looks like all feedback involving trades has disappeared.
• I don't see an option to bump a sale thread.
  
• There is no button to click to PM a member in the buy/sell/trade section. I'm guessing I'd have to either start a new "conversation" (ugh...the terminology is annoying too) and type out the member's name or go to their profile and click the start a conversation link.
  
• It would appear there is now an option to invite more members to an existing PM. Maybe that's why it's not called a private message anymore...because it's not really private.
• When I go to the home page, it acts like I'm not logged in even though I am.

But at least the ads scream at you now

Wow, sorry guys but this update is a massive mistake, its dreadful, so many useful bits have disappeared.

There's error messages when you try to view new posts that have been made since you opened the thread.

I'm sure you'll improve it with time, I wish you luck.

Is there no way to search within a thread now or am I just missing it? That's a huge oversight if that's gone

All imbedded Youtube videos are now just images,which essentially kills the threads in the "music" section.

sorry guys , total fail - cool colours and all , but the functionality has gone down the drain

please do revert back to the old system

also , you ****ed up completely the FS section , which was a very important part of why i visited the site

almost feel like selling my stuff and logging out for good

also , how do we bump our FS ads ? and why no pics of the things for sale ?

hoping you will revert back to previous layout , this new layout is a UBER FAIL

It's horrific... I 100% with Music on this one, I hate everything about it... everything I would REALLY like if we could have a legacy site, I know that maybe requires a separate sever. But this update is horrible. It's cool looking but really not useful

I also lost all of my Likes, every one that I'd given and I'd received... I often liked something as a way to save it. But all of them are gone -.-

I also lost my contributor status!!!!!!! I was REALLY happy to have earned that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On top of the entire history of threads I was following, we used to be able to see when a thread we posted in had a new comment, listed in timed order. Now that's gone to!

Agreed, the forum may be partially up, but posting pictures now has no option to direct upload from the icon....just figured out that the "upload file" option allows it. Likes received are gone, and subscribed threads notification are nowhere to be found....I don't even know which thread I am in anymore and where to look for it...LOL

Head-fi should've organised a "beta period" and run the old and new sites side-by-side, to gather user feedback.

Arrived at the new site to find I'd been logged out. Tried to log in once, and was immediately told my account was temporarily locked due to too many failed login attempts. Waited for a while and then tried again, but got the same message every time. Based on a post I found here I reset my password, and now I'm able to log in.

seriously, I only just joined r/headphones, and I had a lot of threads I was keeping up with here.

Has any one figured out how to PM another user? It seems our PM history over the last day was wiped out
