Hello,

My SRH940s are my favorite sound wise (also have AKG K550 & Senn HD650) but they are my least favorite when it comes to comfort. It it possible to swap head bands on the SRH940? Is there a web store that sells headbands?

Thanks!

Heya,

There's lots of leather(ish) generic bands that could possibly work. You can even get Beyer headband pads off Amazon for like $18.

Very best,

I faced the same dilemma you currently are experiencing. Couldn't stand the chassis. I transplanted the drivers into one of my fav chassis - M-Audio's Q40. Turned out to be an extensive project and one of my fav frankenphones I've built. It is a fun aspect of this crazy hobby. Try to get a bargain deal on a broken headphone or try a cheap headphone and fire up the soldering iron.

Give it a try. Tons of fun! Those drivers are worthy of a comfy home.

I would love to find a replacement K550 or HD600/650 band. I called Shure asking them if I can use a SRH440 / SRH840/ SRH1440/ SRH1840 headband and they said no don't sell replacements for the 1440 & 1840.
