  Personally heard from Fostex rep, price will be the same as TH-600 ($599).

Oh yes it was, but he said the TH-610 will be $599 at launch.

I love the stained look though, much better than the cheap-looking X00's.

I like the shiny look. With the gloss it gives it a different appearance depending on the angle you look at it. The pictures don't do it justice.

Found this out at a recent meet. Absolutely gorgeous is person. However I do like the matte look as well.

I did for a short while.  I couldn't decide if they were too bassy for me or not.  Not enough time to make an accurate impression on them at all.

Thanks for the reply.  My friend in Japan has a pair and he said that its a little better than the TH-600 in the mids but the bass was not as tight.  He said knowing me and what I like to pass on them for now.

I should be getting my THX00 this month, after a good amount of listening. I can go try out the TH610. I expect the X00 should be more similar to the 610. Very like a prototype version of it.

I highly doubt that. Will wanted to have a unique collaboration sound on the THX00. I think the TH610 will improve on the TH600's weak points, not move onto a different sound style. The THX00 was never meant to sound like a better TH600.

What do you think about the detachable cable?  Some people suggested that the plug Fostex using is hard to find.
