Are you sure?

R = Impedance

dB/mW = dB/V - 30 + 10*log(R)

93 - 30 + 10*log(48) = 79.8dB/mW

That is insanely low.

It says 93dB/mW on their website.

I was quoting "93 dB SPL/V" from the Headroom link posted here and repeatedly suggested that it's inaccurate. But even 93dB/mW is fairly insensitive. It's not "Amp Optional."

Didn't check. Thanks for the clarification, and for posting the formula as I wasn't able to find it. That's much less troublesome.

It doesn't require a speaker amp though. A Magni or Objective2 will be able to handle it.

I'm not sure why Sennheiser and AKG shifted towards using dB/V over dB/mW but it is really annoying.

Of course. My point was that it's not like T50RP (98dB/mW), which you can run off an iPod but improves with amping. That's what I meant by amp optional. This, however, will need an amp.

Have they been released yet?

 It is coming soon. Earlier impressions were based on prototypes. I hope Fostex has really improved the sound in the final version.
Also I like how it looks! Leather and metal...
