Hi, as the device doesn't accept a SIM i.e. no mobile data traffic, there is no need for Airplane mode...and in order to save juice unless you're on a plane and wanting to connect to wi-fi, there's no need for that to be on either. I hope that helps?

Thank you for your reply. In my case I mostly use tidal with a bluetooth headset, so both wifi and bluetooth must be turned on. For example iBasso DX180 has airplane mode.

The reality is, turning on Airplane Mode only turns of cellular transmission (at least on an iPhone) so I'm not sure what that gains for you. I also have 2 Shanling players and they do not have Airplane Mode either... Sleep mode on the 11S is only enabled by a set time of inactivity. You can set the threshold relatively low so it doesn't remain powered up and idle for very long.

Did a little research and it seems that Fiio implemented deep sleep on the M17 but not other devices... They should include this on a future firmware update. Not sure why the feature set would be different on devices using the same SoC and version of Android.

Does anyone have issues with the M11S automatically opening the Fiio app and playing music as soon as you plug it in to charge the battery or transfer files? I also notice that as soon as I unplug it from charging, it automatically shuts down in 10 seconds unless you say cancel on the popup?

I have a M11S and really like it but,am thinking of "upgrading" to a M15S--not sure if that is a smart move. Got the M11s for 200$ here on head-fi and am trying to land a M15S for $500 ---crazy I know. I actually like the M11s a lot but, being a nut am always "upgrading" and just having fun with this hobby. Just thinking I can get the M15S and sell the M11s and spend 250 or so---smart or dumb move?---My priority is sound quality and actually BT quality----any input is appreciated--
I listen to the M11S and think--woah--this is good! Why upgrade?--then think--hey for $ 250 I can get a "way better": unit---maybe? maybe not---I know...I need an intervention...lol....

That was the issue, thank you! Question, why does in-vehicle mode make you shut down the M11S after you unplug the USB-C?

I've updated the M11s to latest 1.0.6 firmware and the device is now stuck at loading logo. Any tip on a way to fixing this?

On fiio's subredfit I've found another user with the same problem.

@FiiO , I noticed something else now: if I press the button to advance the track and then press the play/pause button, the Apple Music app does not open automatically. Only when I press the play/pause button first does Apple Music open by itself.
