Yep.. I'll be tossing the H8P at my Cavalli CTH (getting a couple of kinks worked out).. it might be too sensitive for it, though.. I'd love to hear it off a Lyr2!  I can say the H8P sounds heavenly off the Gustard H10.. oodles of current on hand with it.

What is the Cavalli CTH? I've heard of the LAu & Glass, but never heard of his CTH.

The CTH is considered the predecessor to the Cavalli Liquid Glass.. it's sound is renowned for being extremely transparent to the tube used.  My CTH was built by @Misterrogers.. who's a DIY badass.  He has custom cases and has upgrade some key parts in the CTH (SPC wiring, Alps pot, Belleson regulator, etc.).  Here's the one he built for me:

It's a wonderful hybrid tube amp.. extremely versatile (can run both 6v & 12v tubes! .. at a very high plate voltage.. which is ideal).. and sounds incredible.

can you think of any Hybrid amp for  CIEMs that give me warm lush mids/vocal and fun extended Treble which is fun? also fun bass if possible

i had WA7 with EH Tubes, was't this fun :<  Super mids i know but the Treble and Bass were tube level though that the EH tubes were the best option for that

desktop amp if possible else i will go with the current options :/

Search for amps using JAN6922 tubes or ECC81 ECC88 or 6DJ8
But also remember each tube will slightly alter sound

[Edit]Apparently Lyr is equiped with E88CC and can be swaped for JAN6922 lol.

I use Phillips JAN6922 with my amp and I agree with the statement from the Lyr review "The JAN-Phillips 6922 are pure midrange seduction" this tube is like the lushest of lush.

Hi,

This is my first post on Headfi - have been stalking this thread pretty regularly as I seek to get my first CIEM.

As I was browsing through the threads, I realised I didn't quite understand the differences between the Pro and Music series. I'm thinking of getting either the Music Twos or the Pro 330v2s.

From my limited understanding, the Pro series has a focus on accuracy and precision - found this quote by Piotr himself - "Pro330v2 - accurate and precise sound with powerful bass, soften, lush mids and extended highs. True to recording and mastering Soundstage goes deeper than wider but still offers nice amount of air and space."

On the other hand, the Music Series has a more consumer oriented focus - once again, quote by Piotr - "Music Two - powered sound with deep bass, intimate mids and sparkling highs. A lot of fun and emotions"

I'm listen a wide genre range - but I love instrumentals/soundtracks, female vocals and church bands. Which one would be a better fit for me? :)

Thanks so much!
TT

The pro330v2 might be the best choice because they provide better mids and a more coherent soundstage.

hmm even the solid state amps from this company sound warm, i don't think Lyr is capable of bringing fun bass/treble, extended and punchy :p but not like a SS amp

if you don't think so then tell me plz ^^

unless Lyr is a Hybrid and i didn't know O-o  is it a Hybrid? :p

and the low gain is good for CIEMs too right?

thanks for the info Peter :3

Thanks for the reply - I understand the pro330v2 is rather picky on poor tracks, i.e. is it picky on the source as well? Does it demand FLAC level quality, failing which, does it sound bad?

Poor encoded tracks sound good, entry level source too, but poor mastered track are revealed.
