Dr. Roberts, the dimensions are (including the front panel which is slightly wider than the body and including the feet):
 
13.75"W x 10.5"D x 4.5"H
 
The power dissipation depends on the tube used, but for most situations will be 55-60W. The output stages are biased at 150mA which leads to some power consumption.
 
The amp has lots of ventilation and does not get uncomfortably hot. I would say you need about 4" above the amp or really good slow airflow if you go smaller. This also assumes no restriction at the bottom or sides of the amp.
 
I've had the pre-production unit burning in tubes continuously for about a week now in a room with only convection cooling, no forced air, but on a table with nothing above the amp. The hottest part of the top panel, closest to the tube cage, is about 45C (about 113F).

There are three limitations on the tubes that can be used:
 
1. Has to match 12AU7 or 6SN7 basing arrangement.
2. Heater current less than or equal to 1A. For 6.3V tubes, they are in series so a 1A heater is ok. For 12.6V tubes they are in parallel so a maximum of 500mA heater current for 12V tubes per tube.
3. Maximum of about 22mA plate current per tube. Tubes like 6H30 MUST be run at the 200V Plate voltage setting because of this. But tubes like 6SN7 can run at 300V setting. 6922s and equivalents should be run at 200V because their plate voltage maximums are less than 150V.
 
Since the triodes are in a totem pole arrangement each triode sees 1/2 the plate voltage (either 100V or 150V).
 
There is a shutdown in the amp if too much plate current is being drawn.
 
Remember that the gain of the amp is 1/2 the mu of the triodes being used.

Snow? Yikes, and I'm in the Great White North....no snow here for at least 2.5 months. But on that note, closing my pool tomorrow for the season.
