Burson provide drivers that don't work, is not to Microsoft to fix this problem.

Did you read the manual of the Burson Play, point 7 of the Warranty conditions ?

I'm little bit disappointed by that point.

@regedice, for the third time in less than 10 posts: did you purchased PLAY or PLAYMATE?

In any case, install a new Windows 10 and PLAY or PLAYMATE should work just fine with the default Win10 drivers. Optionally, to be 110% sure the device is not defective, connect it to a MacOS and it should work perfectly.

I was precise no ? i bought a BURSON PLAY !
Because i saw what give these drivers when they work and they work with BURSON Playmate !
I want to stay with Windows 10 1809 because i feel good with it, and i think these drivers exist before Windows 10 1809, no ?

No One have a link for this package called "Xmos-USB-(Win10)" ?
I was very surprised when i came in this thread and found nothing about drivers in the first page.

Also, we have absolutely no information about how install these driver in the Burson Play Manual !
Burson just written:

Try installing the bottom-most XMOS driver here, Win 7 or Win 8
https://www.bursonaudio.com/downloads/ at the bottom.

If you just update your windows 10 it would work without a driver..

Hello,

I bought that Burson Play for Xmas and i have problem with Xmos !

I lost many hours to check and obtain the right drivers, but nothing work !

When i read that -> http://www.canever.eu/1/upload/driver_installation_for_windows_users_21apr2016.pdf

I can see that the driver from burson "Burson_UsbAudio_v4.59.0_2019-04-02_setup.exe" have missing steps.

This is what info i get for my devices

I'm under Windows 10 home 64

Any solutions ?

It's already there - XCore USB Audio 2.0. It's how XMOS is labeled.

For your information, these drivers pack "Burson_UsbAudio_v4.59.0_2019-04-02_setup.exe" don't have anything for "USB\VID_20B1&PID_000A" !

USB\VID_20B1&PID_000A = BURSON PLAY USB Signature !

So it's simply impossible to have drivers from that pack of drivers.

Ok for Microsoft drivers, but the XMOS DFU still without any drivers.

That is, for me, unacceptable !

XMOS company can provide everything that Burson need to build drivers for the "PLAY" who will work with all Windows from XP to 10 !

AFAIK PLAY is not compatible with v4.59 drivers, so please use a different one from here: https://www.bursonaudio.com/downloads/ or simply use PLAY in a freshly installed Windows 10 computer and use the default Win10 drivers.
PLAY and Conductor V2+ and other previously designed DACs will never be compatible with newer Thesycon drivers unless manufacturer will upgrade firmware inside the XMOS transport and, of course, to create a new driver signen especially for these older devices. I'm personally not aware of a manufacturer doing the above tasks on an end-of-life product.

If you don't want to use default Win10 drivers, then try https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OLyrV4IeEaXPBHVbpYN2TKlIT7T3ZyJy/view?usp=drive_web or https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bxn23njCr8VCNlJVRmRZMFkyWUU/view?usp=drive_web; one of them should work fine on Windows 10.

You don't need any DFU drivers, this is for something else, like being able to upgrade the XMOS firmware, so please stick with the audio drivers required for the playback or contact the seller for a refund or Burson for support.

Use these drivers: "Xmos-USB-(Win7).7z" from 28.02.2016.
These will install also DFU and you will have ASIO playback.
Yes, it says Win7 - but they are also for 8 and 10 - you can see that after unpacking them.

Otherwise - Win10 default drivers works fine in WASAPI mode. DFU as raoultrifan said is only for firmware update, does not affect playback.

People keep explaining things to you I suggest trying out what we say instead of complaining...

I'm not complaining, i'm a customer who want to buy an item who is build to work with a PC computer, so, under Windows !
If you create something but your forget the most important part = Drivers
What the point to create something so good like the "Play" ?
.
I'm sad to see a group of people who simply accept that the product they bought don't have the right driver !
Because it's simple to check the "INF" files to see if the ID is inside or not.
.
About my problems, i wrote to Burson and explained everything with asking the right drivers.
I will see if Burson is a serious company or not
.
Between that i ordered a new headphone "Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 ohms"

:o2smile:

Burson have never been anything but exceptional in dealing with support issues whether hardware or software related for me and this over 5 years or more and i've had a lot of their products - Are you seriously suggesting that Burson released a product and didn't test the windows driver?

In 83 pages of this thread you're the only one saying something like this. I posted above two drivers that you should try, if you really want to make your PLAY work fine.

Feel free to read my review here: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/burson-audio-play.22702/reviews?page=2#review-19746 where I installed no additional drivers (I've used default Win10 and MacOS drivers), but also other Head-Fiers reviews as well

And the product works fine wit the proper driver - I've told you exactly what to install.
It's not Burson fault if you are trying to install drivers for other ( newer ) products that does not support Play - which is an old product.
If I remember well, v4.130 is the latest with support for Play.
Newer are only for Swing and Playmate.

You may try also an older driver from Khadas - Thesycon Stereo v2.24
It will work too.

Hi everyone.

I don't know if it has already been asked because I couldn't read the whole thread; but if you want to use only the dac section of the Burson and connect it to an integrated amplifier, it is better to keep the volume of the Burson at maximum and then adjust the level via the (analog) potentiometer of the amplifier, or the other way around?
