I know. Not sure why I said that but maybe it's because of the damn too hot weather here.

The earpads are indeed removable but putting them back is...a hell! I once tried it as a test on my DT880.

T5p had a different way of replacing the pads. Its easier on the t5p.

Yeah, I read there is a cut in the ring to insert the earpads. But yeah, me being cautious to my stuff, I like to keep them stock.

Here are a couple of photos of the T5p Gen 2 with the Brainwavz Round XL Sheepskin pads.




Comfort was increased at least 16 times with these, compared to the stock pads. Interestingly enough, the headband still hurts after 30-40 minutes of usage.
Sound was a little muffled with the fabric of the stock pads so I removed it.
The bass is a little boomier, but just a little bit. Maybe because of the much better seal.

Overall, they are much better now.
I still can't justify the price over the DT177X though, but that's just me.

Could be. It applies to the T1.2 too it seems and they are the only ones that shows out of stock. Very curious about the new versions.

There are rumours of a 3rd Generation T5p entering the market within the next couple of months.

In tried the XL pads as well, but they didn't quite agree with me, just a bit too much extra boom for my own taste. I finally gave in and bought the Dekoni Elite. The newer Dekoni pads fit the Beyers perfectly (you can actually fit them like stock pads now). I snipped out the fabric cover as well which definitely helped get rid of muffle. They're perfect for me now.

What's the best open-backed headphone that compares well with the T5p Gen2? I already have the T1.2 but that's 600-Ohms so I cannot drive it properly with a phone or a DAP. I love the T5P Gen2 sound and am looking for an easy-to-drive open-backed equivalent.

It seems like they removed the p. So maybe it will no longer be 32 Ohm for portable? Just guessing. No official news yet.
