New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)

These are £650 from amazon uk, is this a good price? direct from amazon not a third party

I think that's a pretty decent price. About 800USD. I recently bought some on Amazon uk for £611. If you're ordering to the states, or in my case Mexico, they deduct the value added tax and add on the taxes of the destination. No surprises when DHL shows up at your door with them.

the direct from amazon ones just went back up to £780

i think there is some kind of scam or something to make the price go down, because one third party seller listed for 500 and something and another for 655ish then the direct amazon price dropped. now them 2 third party listings are gone and the price has gone back up

a few weeks ago a third party seller listed them for £350 and the amazon price dropped to roughly £580, but my order got cancled for the £350 ones and i wished i ordred the £580 ones

This seems to happen regularly (same for T5p) on Amazon in most of the European countries. The same thing was going on when I ordered. I guess fortunately for me only the direct Amazon listing would ship to Mexico.

Well i will keep an eye out, if they drop below £600 again they are mine.

Is the only balanced cable that fits the Beyerdynamic one? or can you get custom ones?

Most of the major custom cable manufacturers seem to make them,i know Double Helix does. From what I've read the stock cable is fairly good quality. I converted the stock cable to balanced by replacing the 3.5mm jack with a neutrik 4 PIN XLR connector.

The T1.2 on this CHORD Hugo TT is simply fantastic ! Rendering is a rare finesse, very balanced, wide soundstage, a crazy dynamic at all levels! I find this CHORD just great, which was a test may well turn into buying ...

Amazon pricing is crazy ... they're back up to £780 now.

I hope you love them as much as I do mine. They've cured my upgradeitis ... real keepers.

Beyer's own balanced cable is great too.

I just re-terminated my balanced toxic cables silver poison cable for the t1.2, not had a chance to listen other than testing. Connectors are a bit pricey, I recommend the Beyer balanced cable, great quality.

Which amazon are you talking about? Currently £730 on amazon UK....

this is all going on at the UK amazon, a third party seller will put a listing which i do not think is legitimate or will be fufiled and it must auto lower the price of the amazon direct listing, as soon as the third party listing disapears the price shoots back up, in the space of about 10 minuites, wish i took screen shots now.

Conspiricy theory, are people abusing this to buy them for cheap by making fake third party seller accounts to get the price to lower?  maybe people that then resell them?

I went on the site to see myself

and i saw it fluctuating from as low as 357 quid to like 750 or summat with a refresh

so its possible

it happens on amazon.ca sometimes as well, some high end phones were selling for $8.88, e.g like a dt880 by new sellers, so obv something is fishy

but i guess if you can snag a deal with amazon (not third party, as some are obv scammers), they will honor it

happy fishing

I could not get any of the prices you guys are talking about - so I ordered my T1.2 from amazon.ca (CA$1100=US$824) and I am very happy with them. Pairing them with chord mojo, I love the clarity, speed and instrument separation. Was about to get the Focal Elears but the T1.2 sounded better to my ears.

No wonder the T1.2 are the best overhead headphones from the point of view of customer satisfaction in Japan ( http://kakaku.com/kaden/overhead/ranking_V020/rating/ ).

Is there a portable DAC / amp combo which would make the T1.2 sound even better than chord mojo?

I went the other way and bought the Elears but it was real close( I really liked them both ) and I will definitely be buying the T1.2 if it ever comes on a deal in the future.
