Nice review but I'm afraid you made me look at Feliks Audio and I have only just bought a xDuoo XA3 and a Little Dot MK II

Nice review... I strongly suggest you try the t1 gen2 with the v281/v850 combo. Balanced of course. Sublime.

Thanks for your nice words and recommendation. But I'm tired of listening to DACs, amps, tubes and headphones and for the foreseeable future plan to just lay back and listen to music. Also, I'm not a strong believer in running balanced in the typical desktop or two-channel home based speaker system. I don't think it makes much sense to run balanced unless the DAC and amp are both balanced, and that is serious money.
I've already spent a lot of money on tubes getting my Elise to where it suits me, and I think the Elise-T1 combination is extremely hard to beat. I don't feel like I'm missing anything, so for now will just be chillin' and listening)))

Great comparison review.
Ordered my T1.2s this weekend and they arrived today. It's an amazing headphone with, as you said, incredible detail. Very comfy. Wore them for about 2 hours and would've kept going but hunger (forgot to eat) won instead.
Wanted the HD800S (although I'd never either before) but the decision came down mostly to price. Since many reviews rated the T1 and HD800 to be on similar (if not equal) levels in most areas, I figured the less expensive T1.2 (with it's case and standard 3.5mm connectors) was a better choice. I already ordered some ultra-slim adapters so I can use a balanced cable from my Z7s with it.

Just want to leave some further feedback as a T1.2 early buyer purchasing it once it released and wondering whether any one has the same feeling like me.
Have listened to it every single day since last year September. Using ARCAM irDAC and Lehmann linear for the front equipment, stream with Tidal, played on Roon. I would like to say listening music with T1.2 or maybe any this level of headphones making me enjoy the music itself less and focus on the sound quality more.
I admit image is so good, mid is silky, sound stage is wide, bass is well weighted and extended. But sometimes it just really challenge my ears to listen to the music all the time with those much good attributes. Some people will call it fatigue or not suitable for longer listening while I wouldn't put it that way.
The strange feeling comes when I used more lower tier headphones like (Sennheiser Momentum 1st gen or HD650) with a moderate DAC amplifer like Merdian explorer. The music is more enjoyable for me. Less detail, less resolution, a bit veiled sound, but I enjoy the music itself more.
More like the feeling I was a kid listening to the music from a cassette player, but still dance with the music. While nowadays owning better equipment and investing quite a lot on music fidelity but for the sacrifice of the music entertainment.
Sometimes even rethink whether those as high fidelity as possible of the playback matters, or we should come back to the music itself.
Or maybe it's just Friday, i just got some time to complain something out of nowhere.

Imo, that's just the way you feel today. Tomorrow you may want more bass or isolation than the Beyerdynamics can provide.
I'm new to the T1.2 as well. They are extremely impressive but I'm not suddenly getting rid of all my other headphones after hearing them.
Headphones are like shoes. Those of us blessed to own multiple pairs will not wear the same ones each day. Even your nicest, most comfortable, and/or most expensive shoes will not be on your feet all day, every day. Too much of a good thing......
I think our ears (and brains) need rest too. Or sometimes just a change of pace like different sound from another very good headphone.

I actually understand where you are coming from,
We all enter the Hifi search to enjoy music more, yet so many get caught up in the equipment and having the best out there.
I find I enjoy my music a lot more now with good equipment, but it does get to a point, called diminishing returns.
I find mid-fi gear to give the most overall enjoyment to be honest, or at least a musical high-end system as some systems really make you analyse the music rather than enjoy it.
T1 2nd generation is my opinion are fantastic due to them being musical yet detailed, you can hear all the detail but they are smooth and enjoyable. Especially out of a nice valve amp.
Keep enjoying the music

Good point indeed. Looks like i need to invest a new valve amp for my T1 for me to enjoy more. At the moment, i feel it's too sonic for me, thinking about purchasing a new DAC like chord 2quet (but it might just make it more sonic like dolphin scream).
Have a nice weekend.

I also think T1.2 gives the most reasonable price, most nomral-looking design as top-class headphone for customers. Although the flagship from HiFiman, Audeze, stax may sound better, but they just look weird on the head and too much hassle for make their sound right.
I even think the sounding preference sometimes is even coming from the placebo effect. Nowadays lots of audio gadgets companies are taking advantage of it pricing their products ridiculously high.

Almost placed the order of Icon Audio HP8 MKII. Looks like Elise is popular.
User Pctazhp in this thread also recommended the Elise. Are they so good? even better than A2 matchup?
My budge can afford the A2, but just want my gadgets having more variety instead of sticking to one brand.
