Not sure about consensus, but check out my earlier post in this thread regarding the Dekoni Audio Elite Velour Earpads:

I'm more than happy with them over the stock pads.

I find it interesting you find them warmer and less airy because the opposite happened I gained more air and lost warmth on the elite velours. The pads seem to suit the Amiron Home more, with the pads and T1.2 cable, I really like how the Amiron Home changed, nicely toned down it's treble. Stock my T1.2 Black is a little darker and warmer than the stock Amiron Home. It is possible the black T1.2’s have different pads or something which could explain why I have such different results. Comfort is awesome though, but I find both comfort and sound wise they suit my Amiron Home more. I think the T1.2 Black sounds too warm, smooth, and pleasant stock and I lose that with the elite velours on it. If one has the black T1.2’s then maybe different pads are ideal. Will have to try other pads sometime.

Both of you have convince me to try out the Dekoni Elite Velours. I'll order a pair from Addicted To Audio for $74.95.

From the several amps and headphones that I have, I still find this combination below enjoyable and it gets some of my head time. :)

Hey everyone just got my T1.2s and really enjoying the sound. My main can has been the Ether Flows, and I really like how much different the T1.2s are.....especially the imaging when getting sweaty in games. The only thing is the ear pads aren't exactly plush in the area they make contact on my head, and I'd like to put something more luxurious on them. From reading the thread it looks like lambskin/leather kills the sound signature, but the Dekoni Elite Velour seems to have positive effects for some. I really don't want to mess up the soundstage/imaging on this can and improve the comfort. Anyone feedback on the pad I should be using is appreciated!

Congrats on the T1.2. I still enjoy it despite having ZMF Verite Open, Audeze LCD-3f, HD800, LCD-X, Arya.

Drive it with a capable amp and the T1.2 will open up. It's like a V8. You need to gas it. I'm driving it with Yggy and Oblivion now and for a classic Beyer, it's really good. The action is in the mid and bass. A relaxed treble doesn't bother me. It's a good variation from my other headphones. My son is getting the Topping D90 and A90. I would to hear how that sound with this headphone.
