Tomorrow I will demo the ATH-ESW11 with
AK100's, AK120, and HM-901  ....(and maybe RWAK100 and teraplayer amongst others, see how we go).

I have written up my brief initial impressions of ATH-ESW11 vs ATH-ESW9 using Fostex hp_p1. Need more testing before I post them online.

Glad to hear about the burn in changes.

*I am interested in more ATH-ESW11 vs ATH-ESW10jpn comparisons. Saw a pair for sale but quite expensive (ATH-ESW10jpn).

Please keep us informed.

Just make sure you try the AK120 with ESW11, they're a beautiful pairing :D

I prefer the ESW10 to ESW11 in every single way and have since sold my ESW11 as ESW10 occupies all my time.

The most striking difference is the ESW11 is boomy and slightly dark sounding while the ESW10 has a much tighter bass, a more balanced amount of bass and a more refined sound. I am speaking in relative terms between these two headphones so if you have heard either headphone you can infer the sound of the other.

I tried the ATH-ESW11 today with AK120, RWAK-100, MS-AK100, DX100, Hifiman 901 and the  Fostex hp_p1.
I took some notes which i may write up later, regardless to say the ATH-ESW11 performed well with
the different units.
Changes in the signature sound of the ATH-ESW11 was subtle across the different sources and not significant.

Wrote it up already:
http://www.head-fi.org/t/630288/the-new-iriver-ak100-a-high-end-dap/5205#post_9470946

I will continue with my ATH-ESW9 vs ATH-ESW11 comparison tomorrow.

*Also there was a pair of used ATH-ES10 that I was tempted to buy and fit with the ESW9 earpads and compare (ES10 with ESW9-pads) vs ATH-ESW11. But decided against it as even If I liked the ES10 more or If it was the same for a cheaper price I couldnt wear those shiny cups :).
*Plus I could only  get the leather ESW9 pads, cant seem to locate genuine ESW11 replacement pads which would be a better fit.

*Also I am looking for a frequency response graph for the ATH-ESW11.
I would like to compare it with the ESW9, ES10 and ESW10jpn graphs I already have.

Any ATH-ESW10jpn vs ATH-ESW9 comparisons you can share?

I am curious as the driver size is similar:
ESW9 - drivers 42mm,
Frequency response   5~35,000Hz

ESW10jpn - drivers 40mm
Frequency Response: 5-53,000 Hz

Seeing as I am at it
size]
 lets add:
ESW11 -  drivers 53mm,  5~42,000Hz
ES10  - drivers 53mm, 5~40,000Hz

*Specs from Audio Technica website.

* The frequency response seems a big plus for the ESW10jpn.

I found these, but I am not sure, if this is really genuine.

Thanks for searching some possibly pads for me - Gratitude.
I figure If I cant find them at e-earphone I am not gonna risk it ;)

.......Anyways, even If the ATH-ESW11 and ES10 with leather pads sound about the same, I cant picture myself walking about like a bling bling Tokyo bladerunner cyborg with the ATH-ES10

Has anybody had a chance to form impressions on the PHA-1>ESW11 combination, preferably with an i-device?

Got both coming in from Japan so I hope they match up well. I always wanted to try the ESW10 but could never get my hands on one. I had an ESW9 and found it fatiguing, so I sold it off rather quickly. If the ESW10 sounds like the CK10, that's great but if the ESW11 sounds like the FX700 that's great for me as well as I like that kind of coloration. Those are the two IEMs I held onto anyways so I guess they're my favorites. I swore off supra-aural headphones but then I saw these and got one of the last pairs off Price Japan, right after they dropped the price ~$50 so I think I did okay.
