I don't worry about such things.
when i get home, i turn on my tube amps to get them up to temperature, sit down, and enjoy the music i'm in the mood for.
if i like it "romantic", i listen with my ZMF headphones, if i like it more detailed, i take my HEKSE :)

but anyway, I'll leave you here again among yourselves, obviously I lack the technical understanding to be able to write :)
Great point! it is amazing how audio-gd scales with different headphones.

I did not imply you were not able to hear technicalities. We can not discuss our taste, and I am not saying you should not upgrade because you need to be able to hear what I´m hearing. If you already like your R28 then I´m sure whatever you choose will impress you. I bought R1N after buying the R8H2 and found it amazing.

I needed to drink some water for the last 1 hour and kept listening on R1N - "just one more track" - somebody help me out of this chair.

For what it's worth, I'm also not a cable guy. I like attractive, well-made things of all kinds, but I have never intentionally compared cables etc. It's just not my thing. I'm not saying they don't matter, I'm saying I have other priorities.

Well I am not sure what to say but the LHY OCK-2 (deep black version, nice) arrived today and once installed I could notice the difference (positive) immediately. Now call it confirmation bias but the soundstage is more pronounced, mids are elevated and the detail is more intense in the best way.

I think the Audio-GD DAC's in particular benefit from a master clock due to the fact that their "secret sauce," is the DAC ignores the source clock (for me it is my RS130 streamer) and uses it own internal clock as the master clock UNTIL you connect a Master clock then the external clock controls all. I do have my streamer and Audio-GD DAC connected via square wave 50ohm and call it distortion or better clock timing but I like it. I wish I better understood how this can make a difference but it did.

For the clock haters be nice I am just relaying my single experience.

Master Clock is exactly about running all the devices off the same clock. Absolutely unsurprising that it sounds better :)

Wait until the clock stabilizes. You should be very pleased! Your distorsion lover! :)

Here is a picture of the black version. Blends in (that is the point) but looks great and sounds even better.

I find that master clock a steal for the money! - and yeah I run square out

As @FredA it will take some time. Actually I started to hear the improvements after 6month, not saying it is the breakin time, but the differences was there everytime I tested.

As you said I also find it improves the DAC indeed. For me it actually is beyond, a head of my endgame sound technically. So much informations everywhere in the sound image. It is overwhelming nice on Susvara.

When I connect the DI20HE it unleashes a 3D/surround sound kind of feel. DI20HE is really good, but it improved very little with OCK-2, noticeable enough to keep using it. To be honest it was kind of enough just connecting the DAC to OCK-2, and not DI20HE...like I said the sound gets beyond my endgame sound, and I get lost in the music.

Are you trying to get me to upgrade already, LOL. I do have my eye on the Nano but wanted to jump into the semi shallow end prior to diving in head first into the deep end. Once people get the Nano in hand and the feedback comes in that maybe next (unless my wife finds out and then I am done for now

Im also considering that one as Im not using all the outputs on the OCK-2 and want a more visual match with the black colors.

The Nano looks like a very good deal. I have 3 Mutec boxes and based on that I'm pretty sure whatever Chris puts out is worth buying.

Makes sense. I still have not seen the Nano available in the USA for purchase only Germany for now. That being said the BLK case of the LHY OCK-2 is sharp. I had no idea it was available in black but as my order was getting prepared they asked me which color I want. BLK is the perfect match for my setup.

Would maybe be different if you clocked you streamer. A clocked streamer made a big difference in my setup. Still on a high from this upgrade (over the last 3-4 weeks).

Probably they'll ship you a silver Nano by mistake :D
