New Audio-gd R-7, R-7HE R-8, R-27, R-27HE, R-28 Flagship Resistor Ladder DACs and DAC/amps

I have had the R28 for a year and use it daily, i bought the R28 unplanned, thanks to a good offer, and since then I love the device.
I got the Rockna on loan, as well as a Pontus 2, since I want to upgrade my R28.

After I have heard a couple of days the Pontus 2, both with the OG firmware, as well as the 1.4, i think Denafrips is not my cup of tea.
From a technical point of view a great device, but gives me when listening to music just not the feeling like my R28.

I will use the Rockna this week, then write my impressions on the weekend.
In comparison I would recommend only listen to Rockna the whole time and then one day switch over to audio-gd. You have to unburn the audio-gd sound. I was biased in my comparison, even though I wanted to buy and downsize my system.

From now on I will take a week of audio-gd when comparing other dacs/systems

That's how I did it with the Pontus.
Sunday then connected the R28 again, and immediately the smile was back on my face.
This week the Rockna gets his chance. ;)

The R1NOS might, as there is some interest from people who want a "pure" DSD DAC to use with HQPlayer. I did ask Kingwa some time back if he had tried HQPlayer with his DACs, as I find the results to be fantastic, which I'm sure I've mentioned before.

Yeah but what's missing is a headamp for the guys who want an all-in-one and would take a chance on Audio-gd at the price range. The R2R-11 missing from the lineup is a big sad hole.

Run it pure as possible with nothing in front. Wavelight has a sophisticated reclocker built-in ! - especially not that Gustard DDC.

What is you source?

Yes USB only.

If you are dedicated hifi listener, upgrading the macmini with teradak will make wonders. I see you have gaming in the signature. I would recommend Pink Faun USB Bridge V2 over the JCAT USB XE. But the JCAT is not far behind, and it got 2 USB ports.

Has anyone done a DIY with parts from audio-gd?

I see DA boards can be purchased.

Im dreaming of a really small dac with dc input.
