You could sell a few gears.
I never sell anything. I probably should but I know I would regret it.

About the only thing I know I could part with is my Chord Mojo with a dead battery. Works great off a phone charger but therefore can't go mobile, mobile, mobile, yeah, he he

Thank you @DACLadder I wonder why an ASIO proxy is needed, does anybody understand this?

But that means another 100% on top of the price + shipping, is the ebay clock worth 650 USD?

Thanks that would be 2600 euros at least, so no go. If it gets up into the stratosphere, the Mutec clock starts to look affordable since it is made next door.

Understood. But I used to have to travel for work, before corona I was flying 12 times a year. When I leave the apartment I turn off all the power. I can't take a chance on anything when I'm not here. And I like the idea of being able to turn individual boxes off and not have hot plugs lying around even when I'm here at times.

Thanks, I would hestitate until somebody verified it. I don't go for measurements on audio, but clocks are just clocks, so measurements should be meaningful.

Yeah but I would have to pay twice the price, is it still worth it?

I‘ve configured a system for a friend of mine based on the DI20HE, a R7HE 2020 (with 2021 HDMI/USB upgrade) and the Gustard C18 clock.
The result is quite impressive and we did A/B testing with and without the external clock, the result is a real step forward in terms of realism, bass definition and punch, the treble becoming just so true, so defined…. I need to say I really felt in love with this combo.
I never had the chance to try out an Afterdark, but the C18 is doing an already great improvement to an already excellent combo.

Thanks, I don't want to buy a clock that has only 50 ohm or only 75 ohm outputs, but this info from somebody who listened to the C18 is good :)

Sorry. Your are right. The only relevant element is that the Amanero can do dsd256, i confirm. And that a linux-based streamer is a good bet.
@FredA, as I know you also run a USBridge, I’ve recently replaced the already excellent Allo Shanti PSU with a Farad Super3 and I’m totally impressed by the result… a real noticeable improvement, again in the region of bass definition and impact, even better smoothness of the mids and silkier highs…. Even if it represents a more substantial investment, it is very noticeable and definitely worth it.

Added a 3.3uF film, a 0.01 uF and a ceramic cap (1200 pF) at the main out of the Shanti. First impression: more slam to the bass and blacker background. Not sure, still early.

If it weren't for the impossible shipping and tax scenario I could probably just make linear PSUs for fellow hifi-heads and quit my day job

Some of those psu are so expensive. There is money to be made for sure.
They're really not difficult to make. I use to make them all the time in the 1970s and 80s.

I only wish everybody would standardize on one size connector...

For those who may interested, the R27-HE has came out for some days, which considered to be a R8-he and he-9 combo.

It's got a new screen and machined faceplate. The looks are great. I am under the impression the depth is 430mm, while the spec says 480mm. There is possibly an error.

Also, I believe the external clock input is an option.

As much as I love Audio-GDs products, the R8 MK2 is as big as I am willing to go for my current setup - in fact, as is, I had to orient the R8 to the side rather than facing me as it'd otherwise half protrude out of my AV rack. Wouldn't mind if Kingwa built them taller instead like a double decker bus somehow

I think they have the same depth and width in fact. Just more height for the r27he. As i said, there is an errror in the spec i believe.

Thank you for letting me know about this one!

I would love to get a really good one-in-all DAC/amp. I bought the Chord TT2, which even with a SOTA external LPS was not good enough for me. Lets see how good this one is.
