@Chopin75 I think you are correct on the N100 only doing up to DSD128. That does indeed suck if the $8,000 streamer can't do DSD512. Even the W20 ($17,999) only appears to do DSD128 max. Seems their high-end customers would be demanding it and more!

My R7HE has arrived. Lucky with the timing of my order, Kingwa uprated the transformers spec last month for extended operating duration. Will reconfigure my gear and rack soon, just pulled out the Master-11S for now but it will go back in and both DACs will be fed by the Singxer SU-6. Happy days ahead , loving the sound of the R7HE already

Welcome to the club! I have the old transfo spec but i can tell you you won't regret it. Those wondering which is the best dac under 10k, i would venture to say the r7he. Forget about the Terminator, it has been terminated.

I wonder how something like this installed into dedicated media PC https://jcat.eu/product/usb-card-femto/ would compare to a music streamer like the N100H feeding an su-6 or u16. Wanted to try it but never did because $500 seems ludicrous, but cheaper than something like an n100h I guess.

Wonder no longer. I’ve been using the JCAT PCIe USB board for about 4 years. Nice feature you can plug in linear +5V to power USB ports. But the Aurender sounds better. Allo Usbridge sounded better also. And the JCAT board works flawlessly as far as operation where the PC USB ports do not work with every device like the Altera Blaster.

Got the Magna upgrade too + internal i2s silver wiring in cotton; unbelievable its incredible. The DAC sounds incredibly spacious and clean now. Raw edges have completely disappeared.

@gk2013 it's really a great upgrade indeed. The normal upgrade is on the circuits of the DA-7 boards, but i have the silver wire mod also and some extra circuit adjustments on the digital mainboard. I dare to say it makes as much difference than the upgrade to Accusilicon clocks!

That’s a great DIY idea! Throw in a roll of silver wire to complete the upgrade. Probably remove the digital board for the cap change anyway. Replace the wiring when re-installing the board for a neat installation.

Would be great to have some indication to understand exactly what electrolytics need to be changed...that's Magna's secret for best result. I suspect they will say "hey man! Ship me your dac and we will do it for you!".

Magna Hifi is keeping information tight lipped for obvious reasons as they did the development and research. Kingwa said he does not know what they are doing. And said he designs for neutral sound and customers are free to modify however they see. I would think warranty would be an issue if you get carried away and extreme. Magna upgrade service is for Magna DAC customers only. I don't know about upgrade kit of parts.
