So just got my replacement LCD3s less than 48 hours after shipping off my "veiled" pair at USPS. Holy crap - they are fine sounding! Now I finally get what people were saying at CanJam about these having 'stat speed and being comparable to the 007s.

Thanks to Audeze - Sankar and Alex - for taking care of this!

My replacement unit has the see-thru foam and squishy pads still.

Purrin, could you post the FR Chart you got with your new LCD-3?

Maybe not 27 but at least a few more. I'm not ready to jump on the "everything is all good now"-train after months of people reporting problems, with a few here and there that are happy. and now.. three successful returns a row!, wow..
To place the 2k order, I need to be more convinced that it's gone.

We need 27 more samples to conclude that it's fixed. Anecdotal evidence from three Head-Fi'ers is not statistically sufficient. Sorry I couldn't resist.

As you should be. But I have a feeling this will all be swept under the rug soon. Audeze must have been overwhelmed. I hope they've made a change in their factories so this never happens again because it was crazy, huh? I fear one day my LCD-2's breaking down and waiting forever to get them back.

As much as I enjoy the sound of my LCD-3, I can't help but wonder if they're one of the veiled pairs.

I've been told "oh, you'd know" by another head-fier. While I appreciate the vote of confidence, I'm of the mind that while I enjoy their sound, I don't know just how good they could be potentially because I have no frame of reference.

I must admit, the temptation to send them back to Audez'e for a once over is growing.

I think you should contact audeze to see what is the response.

I wouldn't hesitate. Worst case scenario is that they are fine  and you pay the shipping costs for peace of mind.
Seems worth it to me.

The LCD3 are truly awesome. Everything that was said about them at CanJam was true.

Unfortunately, the left driver on my replacement pair just died. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Audeze is working on making the LCD3 measure flat...

...on the electrocardiogram.

Marv, hope you get everything sorted out.  Do you plan on bringing your set to the SoCal meet?  If it's unveiled I'll probably give it a listen.
