Thank you. I meant the specific positions of the controls as were in the photo, raised highs to the max etc. (I was already familiar with the lokius manual, that's why I asked).
Low Frequencies, Lower Mids & Presence (#3, #5 & #6) are usually at zero. The Bass (#4), usually at 10-11 o’clock. Treble & High Frequencies [a.k.a. as Air] (#7 & #8) are usually at or near maximum. I make small adjustments periodically depending on the production of the album and/ or, the headphone I’m using.

These days the CD player(s) looks like this:-

Maybe both of us using a Lehmann Linear has something to do with admiring the NDH 30 so much! :beerchug:

Ι can understand the #8(16kHz) being at max because of our age (I am 53). We can hardly listen anything above 14-15 kHz now, but I suppose control #8 affects the area over 12kHz somewhat, too.
The #7 (6kHz) being close to max isn't way too much for the NDH 30 ?

Heard someone calling my name. lol : )
Sorry don't know Donald Fagen, took with a quick sample...not really my listening genre at all. Sorry. : (

......Stand corrected..he's Steely Dan, that's about all I know... believe I have one of their albums "Aja", but on vinyl from the 70s.
Steely Dan was comprised of the duo Donald Fagen and the late Walter Becker. The band’s name ‘Steely Dan’ is from the novel “The Naked Lunch” by William S. Burroughs, written during the Beat Generation movement. To be specific, it’s the name given to a, ”dildo” by a female character in the story.

Not for me. I’m turning 68 next month. So, again depending on the production and/ or the headphone I’m using, I noticed that by extending #7/ treble, the ride cymbal as an example, becomes clearer without becoming sibilant. Also, I don’t understand the measurements themselves per se, eg. kHz, etc. I’ve tried many times learning/ understanding them but to no avail. It was the same with math in school, to say that it was a struggle for me is an understatement. Academically, no problem, that was a breeze. With the years I’ve come to accept that it’s basically the way my brain is wired. So, getting to the point, when I adjust the tone controls on the Lokius, I do so by ear.

My Lokius only has 6 controls. How much did you guys pay for the 8-knob version??
:)

Nvm, I see now that the controls are labeled globally, so the lowest knob is referred to as #3. Incredibly intuitive, that is!

And at 41 years old, I barely can tell any difference when I actuate the highest knob on the Lokius. I think my hearing tops out around 15kHz. Is there anything worth hearing above that threshold anyway??

In my case, I couldn’t accurately confirm what you’re saying. Check out my previous post, no. 1,791 above, on this page, as to why. BTW, love your avatar.

Yes a fun test, but it depends so much on the volume you listen at. With no way to objectively establish a listening volume it's not very meaningful. However I got 57 as a result, but I was aware of something which sounded like my mild tinnitus before that.
