What are my choices for a wide soundstage + bass that are <=$200?
I had the Brainwavz HM5 which had a HUGE soundstage and great separation, but the overall experience/frequency response was rather sterile.
I traded them for a set of Ultrasone DJ1/HFI-580s, which have a rather fun sound signature but a pretty small soundstage.
So what I'm looking for really is the combination of those two headphones: wide soundstage, deep bass response. I'd like to stay under $200, which leaves the Ultrasone Pro 900s out (they're also out of stock everywhere too). Are the DJ1 Pros (Pro 550) really that much flatter than the DJ1/580s?
I'm also open to other brands as well, although the build quality on the Ultrasones is rather nice.
