i think the best superlux is the HD668b and its pretty hard to drive..
 
the SQ is good, but the soundstage is a bit bad..
M50 are better on soundstage.
 
you can get the HD558 for that

That's why I have tended to stay away from that, but there's also the hd 330 which is enhanced, so which is the best is preference.  The fact that I do want more of a nuetral headphone negates that though.  However, if there were to be more soundstage on the hd 330, I would love to try it.  Superlux does seem like a bang for your buck company, I wonder how their harmonica microphone is?
 
Back to headphones, any good entry level electrostatics that I could find used?  (stax sr 5 w/ srd6, koss esp series)

m50 can be found for around $110 on amazon..sometimes lower
I think m50 and 555s will work as great all rounders..you can always do the 595 mod on the 555s

The D2000 and esw9 most likely will be out of the price range.

I know some folks who would argue with that point. The k240DF is more neutral than the sextettl, FWIR....also the k240M. The 240M will have better bass than the DF.  It all comes down to which sound signature the OP prefers. There is a lot of variation in the various sextetts so it's a bit of a 'hit or miss' with those, unless you can audition a set
